New scenes from Wreck-It Ralph were shown and a song was performed from Disney’s 2013 film, Frozen. With Idina Menzel playing the misunderstood Snow Queen, the song felt VERY similar to Wicked.

While they may be following Tangled in terms of using a generic title, at least they are not hiding the fact that it's a musical.

Though casting Idina Menzel would probably give that away

I think they wanted Idina Menzel in this role because when she played Nancy Tremaine she didn't get a song to sing.So,now that they have a new musical they picked her as sorta an apology for not getting her a song to sing in the other movie..

I have a feeling with each passing movie Disney has been doing so far I believe they are being troperrific with what they are making and this movie is no exception.

Now I know why this version of the Snow Queen is so different because I think they are doing it in style of Wicked which actually put a better view of the Wicked Witch Of The West.

So,by my understanding that the Snow Queen is mistunderstood then there is a reason for the title change because this is basically Snow Queen meets Wicked.And it would be even more good reason why they put Idina Menzel in it because they realized they were making Wicked as a Snow Queen story.

Actually Idina had no intentions of singing in Enchanted, she was actually flattered she was chosen purely for her acting talents

I would be blown away if Idina had a song more powerful than "Defying Gravity"(- Come on Disney you can do it!)

A duet between Idina Menzel and James Marsden was written but ultimately cut from the film. I'm not sure if the song was recorded though.

Well, there's a first time for everything, right? And while Schwartz is incredible, even he has written some duds (you ever see Gepetto?)

I disagree, 'I Believe' from The Book of Mormon is pretty epic. As is 'Sal Tlay Ka Siti'...

And Stephen Schwartz is seriously overrated in my opinion. With the exception of Defying Gravity, not a single song from Wicked sticks in my head. Prince of Egypt suffered from that as well with only 'When You Believe' lingering on. He's a lyricist at heart and just not a very good composer. He was not the reason Pocahontas, Hunchback or Enchanted worked. His lyrics, yes. The melodies? All Menken. I've never hummed a Stephen Schwartz melody.

Robert Lopez is ten times the composer Schwartz will ever be. Book of Mormon, Pooh and Avenue Q are all excellent.

Just my two cents.

I should have elaborated. I was speaking of Schwartz strictly as lyricist. I think the best songs Disney has put out lately were by far in Enchanted, mostly because of the lyrics combined with Menken's obviously fantastic (as always) compositions.

But I also think that there were plenty other amazing songs in Wicked - Popular, Dancing Through Life, No Good Deed, I'm Not That Girl, and For Good are on my regularly played lists.

I know I shouldn't underestimate the Lopez's, as I really have enjoyed what they've done thus far. So I am looking forward to Frozen. I think my issue is that I'm only really considering their previous work for Disney - Nemo and Pooh, which is much more on the "fun and silly" side than what I'm picturing for Frozen. You're right though, Book of Mormon does have some great moments.

Love descriptions of Anna, Elsa, Kristoff an Olaf ! … But the most interesting part to me is when i understand Elsa made snowmen to protect her palace, but the first one was not that good, small and not scary enough : Olaf ! So he was like banished, rejected and will become such a helpful and precious friend for our heroes ! Such a beautiful and subtle, original, idea : an ex villain sidekick becoming the good ones sidekick ! Olaf is like the little brother of the big scary snowmen that compose the snow queen army. But no one likes him ! He contains a bit of the magic evil of Elsa, but not enough to be bad so he becomes a friend of Anna and surely knows a lot of Elsa secrets to defeate her !

I agree. Besides "When You Believe," the mother's "Deliver Us" and "The Plague" are both amazing songs.

Also, agreed completely. "For Good" and "Popular" stand out almost more than "Defying Gravity" to me, personally--and they are also very well remembered from Wicked.

I'd love to see Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz team up again for another Disney movie. Nothing personal against guys like Glenn Slater, but Schwartz has to be one of the best musical guys to team up with Menken.

I did see the song performed and was pleasantly surprised. I forget the title of the song, but it was one that Idina Menzel sings and you could tell that it was very much in the vein of "Defying Gravity". The performance wasn't the most memorable one, but I'm not sure if it was because of the quality of the song or the performer herself.

While she sang the song live, they showed many, MANY still images, character designs, background art, and concept art from the film. Olaf is an ugly and thoroughly unappealing character but I was pleasantly surprised by the design of the two sisters. The story was explained and it was one of heart and family and themes which I am very much looking forward to seeing. Overall the pitch for this film surpassed my expectations and has me much more interested in it than before.....now if they would just get rid of that silly snowman character, Olaf.......he's like a Jar Jar Binks.

Could you describe them for us? What do they look like? Also what does the male lead Kristoff look like?

One of the sisters looks like a Russian peasant. Her hand drawn character design looks beautiful and I would love to see it animated. Her CG rendering is nice. If I recall her hand drawn character model had blonde hair, she was wearing a brown cloak with a hood pulled down and it seems like she was wearing a red and white striped scarf. A really pleasing character design.

The other sister reminded me A LOT of the old Queen Frostine design from Candyland. Original to be sure, but a lot of blue and white in her character design.

The male character looked like a handsome male lead. Very likable in his hand drawn character model, and his CG rendering was only shown briefly I wasn't able to get a good look. He has a strong jaw line, brown hair, and a little scruff if I recall correctly. He fits in nicely with the overall design of the other characters and the picture.

The silly snow man, however, looked like something that was drawn in a third grade classroom. Even the CG rendering was ugly. I get that he needs to be a bit 'imperfect' for his part in the story, but I sincerely believe that this character is going to be the next Jar Jar Binks. He is not pleasing to the eye in any way. They brought out a puppet on stage of the character and had him interact with the presenter. You can clearly tell that Disney is trying to cash in on what their focus groups indicate will be "good with the kiddies". The snowman has legs, a crooked nose, stick arms, and weird looking eyes. Based off of his looks, his presentation at the panel, and his role in the story I feel that his image is already cringeworthy.

Do you recall the ages of the characters? Were they children (like Alice or Wendy) or teenagers/adults?

Do the sisters have long or short hair?

Was the other male character Hans shown?

Do you recall anything else about the presentation? Any information about the plot?

I'm actually really excited for this. Hopefully it's along the lines of Tangled. Beautiful and surprisingly good! Plus, Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel? God. I love it.
