I have a feeling Amazon have been tipped off that when Disneyland - The Secrets, Stories and Magic of the Happiest Place on Earth is officially given the go ahead for release at the end of 2006 ( I smell a Christmas promo ) , the preorder price will be $24.95 . So Amazon has decided to cancel all orders now to make me pay more later. That sucks amazon. They should be giving the cancelled preorders a concession coupon to apply to this item when it gets released.
jbfd ... from my own personal experience with orders that have not worked out, Amazon did not just nullify your gift certificate - you should still have that available to you for another order. Did you save your gift certificate number??

I don't think you can or should blame Amazon for the unfortunate delays we've all experienced with this DVD; and, if you do a little polite research and legwork with Amazon you can use your gift certificate on another order.
I had the same thing happen to me. I had preordered the DVD when it was announced and used some bonus coupons that I had received. I got the email that cancelled the order and it also stated that I basically lost the gift certificates. I quickly sent off an email to them stating my displeasure of the order being cancelled and that I lost my coupons due to their actions, and not mine. I received a reply, in a matter of an hour, with an apology email that also included another coupon that doubled the value of the coupon that was used on the original order. It helps to email Amazon on this.

Anyone have another update about release?

A little while back several folks thought we would hear something soon. Any word, rumor, etc other than it MIGHT be out in the fall? Seems like we are awful close to fall if that is going to happen.

Hopeful!

P.S. I know i know, bumped up the tpoic with no new info, sorry, but I had to ask!

Subsequently, it was reported on the front page that an announcement was expected this fall, with the disc arriving by the end of the year. I'm not sure if that's changed in the months since, but I sure hope not. In any event, it sounds like the disc will eventually be coming, which is good.

I was thinking the same question, and was going to BUMP it up myself. I guess I am not the only one STILL thinking about this DVD. I really hope they make an concrete announcement. Because I REALLY want this DVD.

Gah, I almost wish this thread could be locked. Everytime I see it bumped up, I get excited and think there's some new scoop on this release. :P

If we knew, you would know (assuming you read the front page).

Oooh, ok this one looks blindlingly sweet. I picked up the Disneyland USA totally blind about 3 days before I left for a week at Disneyland and loved the set. This looks like more of the same, just not in a tin.

I cant wait - I'm so there on release day. Damn you disney!

Yes, this thread has been bumped again.. sorry people..

It doesn't seem to be looking good for a 2006 release of this DVD as it looks like Disney are announcing all their DVD's for December and nothing is being hinted about this. Hopefully an announcement is imminent or this may drag over to 2007!

Well, now we know who's getting the "Post of the Year" award at 2007's UD Member Awards Ceremony...

Remember that Disney just announced Robin Hood, and that's a late November release (it doesn't even have a fact sheet, yet). I think (or hope...) that this will be released right before Christmas, and that we'll get an announcement either at the end of this month or the beginning of October. If we don't hear anything by the time Fox and the Hound rolls around, then I'll worry.

Well the end of the month is just about here and still no word. Meanwhile, it appears that Disney is making announcements about early 2007.

Sadly, this year is almost over already, so I don't care if it gets pushed to 2007, because I have more than enough to worry about getting for October, November, and December. I just want this to come out. 2007 is fine with me if it's not too far along. I just want it to come out and to HAVE Disneyland, USA and lots of other stuff I don't have already...

Maybe they will make this one a Disney Movie Club exclusive? Not a bad idea...

Well, the last update I had was that it would be announced late this year. So, it's quite possible that's still the plan. Of course, that would probably mean a 2007 release, but at this point, what's the alternative?

A great alternative would be releasing it this Tuesday and surprising us all. But that's just me.

It's ridiculous that this keeps getting delayed. Maybe they're trying to Disney-fy it to gloss over some stuff about the park that they're not too proud of (like the castmember strikes, the reshuffling of management for attractions, and of course, park-related deaths.)

Bah to Disney Movie Club exclusives! Some of us can't afford to join clubs! No fair to create a caste system among Disney fans!

Disney Movie Club Exclusive

Not to mention the fact that only U.S. and Canadian citizens are allowed to join. So for me, making this movie a DMC exclusive would be a ROTTEN idea.

I just want it released. Sooner rather than later is better, obviously. I could handle a disney movie club if thats the ONLY way to get it out, but I doubt it.

Seems odd that Disney would allow it to miss the 50th anniversary, but I guess they already had that substandard Official Disc out there.

Everyone needs to wish really hard.
