I don't mind talking about sexual issues or nudity in R-rated movies. I haven't seen any R-rated movies that had nudity.

Isidour likes blood. Eww, lol. I think Kingdom of Heaven is violent, but I don't know how bloody the movie is.

Also, the donkey scene is good, and talk about the clothes of the arabian king

1. Opposite day is a childish idea that went rampant in my elementary school for about two years. It's when you say something, but you mean the opposite of it. For example if I were to say "I hate the piano" on an opposite day, I would mean "I love the piano." Really stupid...

I mean, everyone talks in the same way he or she had lived, and well, for what I had lived that wasn´t big deal.
Maybe it was for you,and I´m glad to know you didn´t suffered the same I did.

I breezed the the filler pages between this one and the first, and I'm not even going to address those issues, just the initial one.

I am very selective in the Rated R movies I see. Personally, I think it's up to intelligent screenwriters/directors to come up with entertaining and thoughtful pieces that don't rely on sex/violence/language/alchohol/drug abuse. The truth is, too many Rated R movies are gratuitous in these areas. The have them in because they want to, not because they contribute to the story. One in particular that I REGRET seeing is Sideways. Pointless male nudity. Pointless every-other-word-begins-with-F dialouge. Pointless raunchiness. It was a good movie, but not in the way critics lavished its praised it. Overrated. It's not in MY Top 10 lists.

However, there are Rated R's because of adult content. One such masterpiece is Vera Drake. It was about abortion, and it actually showed a primitive way of abortion (several times over), and I'm sure they didn't want young girls to get any ideas. Thematic content = R rating in this case. The movies had ZERO language, sex, or violence. I can understand R's like these, or those that can't help but tell the story through these mediums, like The Piano (probably the greatest film of ALL TIME!).

I don't know if it's just that childhood memory. It's probably a combination of a lot of things. For example, when I was in about third grade I declared that I never wanted to be seen as arrogant and that I would do whatever it takes to not been viewed as arrogant. So I started becoming my own worst enemy. Then there was the opposite day occurence, there were no less than three bullies that drove me nuts in third grade (I was very emotional and sensitive and very easy to pick on--still am actually, although bullying doesn't bother me nearly as much as it did back then)and there's probably a lot of other things that I just don't remember.

Yes! I didn't think I was until I discovered director Larry Clark. You should all go out and rent the movie Bully. You'll find it most enlightening.

I don't think I've seen Braveheart. I did see The Last of the Mohicans in my History and English class. The Last of the Mohicans was fairly violent too.

I sometimes watch R-Movies. But Those are rated by stupid ppl cause they are totally harmless (those i watch). These Movies mostly are only rated 6 or 12 here in germany. I've never watched a germanly-rated-18 and only a few 16 Movies.

Evil Dead 1 and 2 weren't submitted for a rating because they knew they's either have to cut things out or get an X. So, they are both Unrated.

yeah, but I heard Evil Dead was rated NC-17 because of the excessive violence, not of porn (like midnight cowboy), which surprised me because I thought a movie was NC-17 because of adult content

To get this thing straight, the R-rated movies were not bad especially these films:

1. "The Good Girl"
2. "New Jack City"
3. "Superfly"
4. "Shaft"
5. "Shaft's Big Score"
6. "Shaft in Africa"
7. "Foxy Brown"
8. "Resident Evil"
9. "Resident Evil: Apoclypse"
10. "Body of Evidence" (I haven't seen that movie. It stars Madonna.)
11. "Madonna: Truth or Dare"

In addition to these R-rated films, "Showgirls" was an NC-17 movie and other films that were porn are X-rated. The first X-rated film was "Midnight Cowboy".

Didn't Evil Dead come out before NC-17 was a rating

I don't own any NC-17 films, but I do have some R rated films. They are mainly action movies or comedy. The only NC-17 film that I have seen was Showgirls.

I don't have a problem with R ratings personally. I've watched R rated movies for awhile. I even remember going to see them when I was 16 in the theater with a group of friends. That was before they started carding for the movies in my area. That was about 9 years ago though.

Now if your under 18 you have to be with someone over 18 to get into a R movie.

Sure there are films that I want watch and avoid, but it has to do with the content of the film and not the rating.

Saying all R rated movies are bloody and gory is just a sterotype. There's plenty of R movies that have none of that stuff in there. Movies can be rated R for many reasons. Sexual Content, Adult Contemt, Swearing, and, of course, violence. Why some of the best movies everymade are R rated. However, I'm not really fond of NC-17. The only NC-17 I have seen is Freddy Got Fingered and that was terrible. I don't plan to see any NC-17 rated movie soon.

Correct. Oddly Amelie one of the best motion pictures of all time is rated R in America, and it has no sexual wording or any graphic sex it in at all. All it has is a shaking wall. In Canada it's a 'G' and in France its a 'U' (universal, suitable for all!)

In the UK its a '15'

Freddy Got Fingered is NC-17? I saw 1/2 of it, and had to shut it off because it was so perverted. I remember it being rated R
