Just finished watching Deadwood - Season 1.
I'm a fan of westerns, so it was no surprise that I really enjoyed this. The characters were all fleshed out really well, and it is great to see a show where nobody is completely on the side of good. Like all good HBO shows, it isn't completely interested in tying up all the loose ends. This first season is like one long first act, and you know it is building to something later. It manages to provide a few genuine story shocks, and everybody is top notch. Will start watching Season 2 as soon as I get the chance (it is already out on DVD here in Australia).

Brought my Trek viewing to a close with Star Trek: Enterprise - Season 4.
It is a shame that this was the last season of Enterprise, as it was finally hitting its stride. Enterprise's fourth season was undoubtedly the strongest of its run. The same relative strength could be found in almost all of the Trek series, most of which saw their strongest episodes during the third to fifth seasons. However, it was definitely a case of too little, too late as the decision was made to pull the plug mid-season. Thankfully, this gave the writers and crew time to come up with bookend episode, a luxury not often afforded to cancelled shows.

About to finish
Thundercats Season 2, Vol. 1.
It is really a shame the series had just 2 Seasons. Although there are some things I don't like (too much time spent on the new thundercats, and not enough mutants), they really nailed it with this Season:
-bringing characters back from the First Season makes it feel as the series been there for a long time and that you had to be watching before in order to get the most of it.
- it didn't feel "educational" at all. In the Extras of Season 1, Vol. 1, they tell you how worried they were because of parents' critics and media in general, so they built the series in like an "educational" way. You can clearly point out the moral messges in most episodes of Season 1. However, in this Season feels like: "Ok, we already fooled them. Now we can do whatever we want as they won't be on our necks".

As such, the series take a turn for just what it was meant to be: a sci-fi/action series.
- even though I much prefer the voices in Spanish (feel much more natural), the English voices here feel SO much better.
... Again, what a shame... it lasted just 2 Seasons. IT at least deserved one more.
