There will be no new singles from E=MC2, as both Bye Bye and I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time have underperformed severely. A compilation album has been confirmed for release on October 20th, and will be titled Mariah Carey- The Ballads. Hopefully at least one new song appears on this to tide us over for a new album, probably with even more ballads, inspired by her husband haha. Here;s the art-

• UK & Ireland - October 20th (as mentioned by James)
• Italy - October 24th
• Japan - November 3rd
• U.S. & Canada - January 2009

I think the wedding really overshadowed the entire project. I know that as soon as the news of the wedding leaked, I was really turned off. After that she stopped promotion for over a month, which killed the momentum.

Anyway the "Ballads" album is just a compilation release from Sony, which means no music after "Rainbow" will be included unfortunately, including new material, which sucks!

I know, We Belong Together is one of her best ballads and should be on the album but won't be because she wasn't with Columbia at the time of the song.

One thing I don't understand though is "Reflections" is being listed on the album on several sites but she wasn't with Columbia when she did it, she was with Virgin, as it was on the Glitter album :?

I wish this album included rare Mariah songs, unreleased tracks and b-sides instead of or along side the ballads. I'd be much happier. I get fed up with compilation albums at times! It's just a quick way to cash in on more money with minimal effort! I mean, if this was actually dedicated to fans it would have better material on it, rather than tracks that all fans probably already have as they're bound to have MC's previous albums which include all these songs. I really want unreleased material from back in the day like "Do You Think Of Me", "Slipping away" and "I Feel It" and "Misty Moon" (even though these weren't back in the day or recorded with Columbia for that matter ).

I don't really like "I Stay In Love", it seems to be a fan favourite but I think it's pretty overrated if you ask me. It's okay but I don't think it's anything special. It's just, her vocals aren't that mesmerising on the track and it's just trying to be another "We Belong Together" in my opinion, only it fails miserably and will never be on the same level. Give me "Lead The Way" any day! Now that is a track she should have released :(

Well, I think the vocals barely even kick in until the very end.... Which sucks booty crust. I've just come to accept it..... I was hoping for either this or "Love Story"

Exactly! That's the only part of the song I like, hence she uses her vocals  the rest is pretty much a snoozefest. Do you think she should have released Migrate? That's another song that seems to be a fan favourite.

I think people are way over the ballads from Mariah because they all sound like We Belong Together. She needs to release For the Record because it is a different sound for her, she could also release Migrate if she wanted to be safe, just edit that annoying intro and I'm good!

The whistle register bit? I actually quite like it for some reason, it sounds somewhat deranged . So you'd prefer it to start from "Bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce. Keep it movin' bounce hey!"

I love "For The Record", I'd like to have seen a video for that one (I know we had the "M" by Mariah Carey commercial but it still would've been nice to see a full length version). "Bye Bye" was the wrong choice for second single and it's been nothing but downhill since then. Maybe they should have released "Love Story" after "Touch My Body" to go with Mariah's uptempo followed by ballad "trend" instead of "Bye Bye". I think Migrate would have done moderately better than some of the singles they selected but to be honest, she played this album way to safe and was just trying to recreate the success of The Emancipation of Mimi. I actually think if she had taken more risks and opted for a slightly different sound, she'd have done better. E=MC² isn't a bad album by any means but it could have been so much more. Still love her though!

I think she is making a mistake by releasing "I Stay In Love". Originally "Migrate" was going to be released on October 6, and I think that would have done so much better as a single. Oh well, maybe I'll be proved wrong.

I like the video, but am ambivalent to the song so it really doesn't matter! I love the bit at the end though in the song where she actually uses her voice, it's so rare these days!

"Right To Dream" & Lyrics

"Right To Dream," the original ballad Mariah co-wrote with Willie Nelson for her film Tennessee, went for adds at Adult Contemporary radio on Monday, October 20th. Listen to the song below along with the lyrics:

RIGHT TO DREAM
[Written by Mariah Carey, Willie Nelson]

I lay awake sometimes
Scared to close my eyes
And I wonder where I left myself
I lost the will to fly

And the night melts into morning
Still it's cold beneath the sun
'Cause the fire in me's languishing
And I'm too frozen to run

Every once in a while
There's a distant glimmer of hope
I find
Somewhere deep inside
Someone strong still resides
And I know she's gonna be fine
In time
'Cause you see
I've got a lot to dream
There's more than this for me

An angel lands with broken wings
Warms me with his eyes
And the ice that sheaths around my heart
Unravel as he smiles

See I grew up locked in sorrow
So I learned to block the pain
But I won't give up tomorrow
'Cause I've come to life again

Every once in a while
There's a distant glimmer of hope
I find
Somewhere deep inside
Someone strong still resides
And I know I'm gonna be fine
That's right
'Cause for real
I've got a right to dream
There's more than this for me

But I keep on going 'cause

Every once in a while
There's a distant glimmer of hope
I find
Somewhere deep inside
Someone strong still resides
And I know she's gonna be fine
In time
'Cause you see
I've got a right to dream
There's more than this for me

Tennessee opens in theaters nationwide on Friday, December 19, 2008.

I love mariah carey and i'm only 14. I like her older albums, And if I had to rank her albums minus mtv unplugged heres howd it go.

1. Daydream
2. Music Box
3. Butterfly
4. TEOM
5. Rainbow
6. Mariah Carey
7. E= mc2
8. Emotions
9. Glitter
10. Charmbracelet

Some of her songs personally should have been singles, like Underneath the Stars,4th of july, and Migrate. Those could of been number ones.
