Sounds cute :D i might see it if you're saying it's not another film about fart\burp jokes like Madagscar or Flushed Away.
I just remember that when Finding Nemo came out some kids actuaully flushed their fishes in the toliet so they'll get home, some of them even went to the ocean to set them free.
About National Geographic-well,you're right (i just remembered how i saw a fish get killed in a supermarket) but baiscly they don't show it that way (this channel was just crazy, they also showed things like a guy drive in a jeep and shoot an elapanth, and how he falls).

If National Geo showed an elephant being shot it was for one of two reasons
Research scientists tranquilized the animal to tag it and/or study it.
or
They showed undercover video of a poacher killing an elephant to bring to light about how the animals are killed for profit.

I think the word you are looking for is sensationalizing. National Geo doesn't sensationalize things like news media does. They are showing the world for what it is. Be it researching the world around us or showing the plight of the world around us. Facts. Nothing wrong with National Geo at all. Its not crazy. The world we live in is crazy. Where people and animals are killed for profit, or the sheer fun of it. Or how people remain fully ignorant and don't open their mind to sit down and actually listen to what is going on.

Well going by that picture, it's not what i expected. It would appear the Sanders character design is really out the window.

I'm surprised to see Bolt looking as young as he does, the original story outline and artwork suggested. Even thought the characters may not look the way I intended I have to say I'm very pleased to see that they do have a unique look. They don't look like Dreamworks or Pixar characters, so that's something in it's favour at least. The cutesy wootsey animals angle doesn't exactly make me confident about whether this film will have a wide ranging appeal. I guess we'll have to wait and see for that.

As far as the background is concerned, it's difficult to tell. To me the trees and barn look look like the type of CGI that made up the backgrounds in Home on the Range (which looked bizarrely out of place with 2D characters.

You should have seen it to know what i mean.
Baiscly they show it in a "nice" way,not showing an animale get shot.
So they just... changed? (i havn't seen this channel a long time but still).

That image isn't directly from the film. It's a painted illustration that was released to promote the movie, so I guess it's possible that the characters will end up looking a little different than they look in the painting... and the backgrounds too.

Take a look at what i found i found:
http://bp3.blogger.com/__kA16vnWHH0/R4K ... oltdcp.jpg
It's a Disney Consumer Products guide for what they're making for the film:
Toys.
Books.
A video game (yay! :D).
And pets (but they want to teach smell kids that they should be responsible for their animales).

PatrickvD wrote:a re-tooling never hurt The Jungle Book, The Emperor's New Groove or Ratatouille. And I don't hear anyone complaining about the changes being made to Rapunzel since Lasseter took over.

And exactly WHAT do we know about Chris Sanders' version of this film.
And exactly WHAT do we know about the pre-retooled versions of the movies you mentioned? Who exactly decided what did and didn't work?

Lots of films were retooled - even Disney animation alone you've missed out Pocahontas, Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast (remember, that was to be live action at one point).
For all we know it was an extremely troubled project. Keep in mind Sanders co-directed Lilo, he didn't do it alone. For all we know he was having the same kind of story problems Glen Keane was having and wasn't willing to give in to Lasseter's demands. Much like Pinkava couldn't work out problems with Ratatouille.

Also, the current director was assigned for a reason. The Pixar people were impressed with the work that Williams did on his animated short. this way of working with new directors has only failed Pixar once (Ratatouille)
Having story problems, but unwilling to accept help? Well, logically it doesn't seem particularly correct does it? Most people welcome ideas - even if they don't act on them directly, because suggestions normally get creative wheels turning.

Or it had a reputation for "problems" because Sanders simply ignored requests from studio heads designed to sell more toys or whatever. That's not unlikely being as Sanders was left to his own devices making Lilo and Stitch. I believe the creators OVERRULLED Disney Marketing's wishes with their Lilo and Stitch teaser trailers. So its all the more ironic that they managed to create the most recognisable and merchandised character from WDFA in the past 10 years on their own.

And if they were genuine "story problems" why outright reject help? Unless Lasseter's "help" was (in Sanders' mind) a total betrayal of his original concept.

Either way, no matter which side you butter the bread, it appears the vision of one Disney's most original creators over the past 20+ years has been "flushed away". People who expect eccentric, challenging and exciting films should feel betrayed, and I believe justified in their mourning. Because from the outside looking in, it appears the "retooling" has simply made the film more generic.

Sadly for instance no news about this upcoming movie...
Just the fact that a first teaser-trailer could be released in a month or so and a real full trailer in approximatively June i guess...
In recent news, John Powell will provide the score (cool!!).
Susie Essman confirmed she will be the voice of Mittens the female street cat.
I know that Disney is fully in production to release the movie in november so they work very hard at this time.
I guess too i will perhaps have the chance to catch more about Bolt in the next festival of Animation at Annecy in France in next june.
Anyway, still no new stills about it, nore upcoming toys at the Toy Fair, nore an eventual Art Of Bolt!! Hope there will be but today so sad for the lack of infos...
(sorry for my english)...

Also, apparently Byron Howard will be co-directing along with Chris Williams.

It's interesting that Disney got Powell to score the film. I wonder what kind of approach he'll be using, because he's a versatile composer who has had mixed results in his scores. Hopefully his score will be up to the standards Disney had had for its scores. :)

I should have posted this ages ago. I forgot.

http://www.aintitcool.com/node/36393

The article confirms that BOLT will have a non-photorealistic look (a la Rapunzel), claiming that you can even see the brushstrokes!

Read the plot details at your own risk. I decided not to read them.

First teaser trailer is attached to Narnia 2 from what I've heard.

My best friend works at the theater in my city and they apparently know which trailers are attached to it.

So Bolt and Half-Blood Prince, I might have to buy a ticket just for the trailers and then leave and get my money back.

Maybe it's homage? like Enchanted? or maybe they're reminding of Penny from The Rescuers to noticed that this Penny is different (Let's say not so cute and nice),and also maybe people thinks that this name fits little girls?.
