I really enjoyed it. Maybe because I haven't seen an episode of the original in a few years I was able to watch it without being blinded by nostalgia. I'm actually enjoying the boys be different. Didn't know if I would or not. I still think I would have preferred Webby being a bit younger, but her tomboy trope isn't annoying me yet.

Was glad to hear a reference to St. Canard in the first part. I was wondering if they would just relocate Darkwing Duck to Duckburg for the reboot. Can't wait to see how the incorporate him.

Wondering if Glomgold is still a South African posing as a Scotsman in this series. He really did seem to be trying to push his Scottishness on everything, but it might be unPC these days.

I really enjoyed it! I think I watched it about eight times yesterday. Liked the mention of Cape Suzette in the beginning too.

There's also a reference to Spoonerville! I wonder if Donald ever takes the kids to see their Uncle Goofy and Max.

In my case, I watched the entire series again recently and that was my mistake. But I don't regret it. It was great revisiting it after several years. Today I've watched the pilot for the new series again and I liked it more this time. One of the things I still didn't like though, apart from the things I mentioned before, is the decision of making Launchpad drive every machine that can be driven. That he's Scrooge's chauffeur and also his pilot it's still believable, though I would have preferred Duckworth to be the driver, but that he can also drive submarines, not so much.

Yes, it's what you say. It was revealed in an article some time ago:

Angones says, “Glomgold is bigger, faster, and cheaper. An in-joke we had for him was that originally in the comics, he was South African, and then they made him Scottish in [the original] DuckTales, so we really leaned into that and decided that when Glomgold saw that Scrooge was a Scottish billionaire, he decided to be the cheap knock-off. More Scottish and even richer.”

I’m trying not to be like so many older people and go on a whole, “In my day, the streets were paved in gold and I could buy three houses with two dimes…" nostalgic meltdown, but I did have a really hard time getting past Scrooge’s new voice. I guess the reboot's not bad, and I realize they have to compete with today’s cartoon landscape.

I've watched the first hour block several times (mostly because I kept missing the first 15 minutes). I don't know, it's...grown on me? Scrooge's new voice isn't bothering me much anymore. Right now the only aspect that bugs me are the kids, but H,D, and L always got on my nerves to a degree, lol. I think it's more their new voices than their dialogue really, because it's as if they only have one mode and that is obnoxious. I was pretty off on Ms. Beakley; she's turned out pretty well here.
