Nice to know that Giants will be a musical and a 2018 release date is a possibility. :)

Would it really be a bad thing if it was? The way I look at it is, if Disney is trying so hard to make their animated films be something other than what their own true style of 2D animation is supposed to be, then they should be canned cause wanting them all to be CGI is just a misguided mistake on their part.

Now, if they were to shelve the movie as CGI and bring it out again in 2D animation (in other words, the opposite of shelving the hand-drawn Snow Queen and turning it into CGI Frozen), then I would say that they'd be doing the right thing and actually be doing what they should be doing. Matter of fact, if they even went to the extra lengths of completely re-animating Tangled and Frozen from scratch in 2D animation, then they would definitely be doing the right thing. Very unlikely, I know, but it's what their movies are meant to be. Disney animation is about the beauty of hand-drawn art, not Pixar-esque CG flicks.

Please keep an open mind. You're really missing out lots of good stuff.

I'd say it's the kiddies that Disney are depriving of hand-drawn animation that are really missing out. That's why I'll make sure I have a good supply of 2D movies and cartoons if I ever have kids of my own.

^With the memory of Snow White, being strong 77 years later, kids today will not forget about 2D.

Anywhos, I really wonder how much Giants has changed, 2 years later:

http://www.bleedingcool.com/2013/08/21/ ... ie-giants/

I'm suspecting that the Storm Giants & the friendship with Jack & the good giant are still on, obviously. And Angelina has to be still in the movie, somehow, even under a new identity. Heck, Jack's love interest could be Imna & Angelina altogether. It wouldn't shock me if Imna & Marco are cut out, especially Marco with the Prince Hans twist.

I hope they didn't change too much because the cast sounds more different & interesting than:

The girl: Rapunzel, Anna/Elsa, Moana

The love interest: Flynn/Eugene, Kristoff, Maui (Most likely not love interest)

The cute, nonspeaking, animal sidekick: Pascal/Maximus, Sven, Moana's pig/Maui's chicken (I forgot their names)

The wise-cracking, talking object: None, Olaf, Moke Moke (x)

There is never EVER going to be another full length 2D film from Disney. NEVER. Do I make myself clear? :x

I'm sorry, I take it back.

Then I'm just going to hate CGI even more and never watch it ever again.

Well, Prince Kido said to completely forget that report which means that since then the story and characters have radically changed.

WOW! Well, that explains the delay. Very excited to see the new story.

I just hope they didn't Lasseter'd it up.

I just really hope they think outside the box a bit and not give us another Tangled/Frozen formula film. I have a feeling they are though.

female lead- Angela
male lead- Jack
secondary female lead- Imna(I forgot her exact name?)
mute animal sidekick-?
funny talking sidekick- the giant Jack befriends
villain-Marcus

Kido just said on the link that all characters (minus Jack and the giant, obivously) have been scrapped completely. I'm still guessing that there's still a evil giant and a love interest, though.

Bobby Pontillas worked on Giants as a character designer.
In character design, Bobby was lucky to be apart of Disney’s Talent Development Program, and got to design on Giants and Moana.
