I received my DVD last week's Friday, and the DVD looks HORRIBLE! The color banding is awfully distracting and the movie is heavily afected by that (and it is throughout the whole thing!).
Here is an example of what I mean:

For me, the most distracting scenes are that of Sitka's funeral (the banding "dances" across the sky and the character's faces are filled with mosquito noise) and whe Koda and Kenai are under the glassure (just look at the bear's fur.

Shame on you, Disney. Utterly disapointed.

I was sort of disappointed to find that Brother Bear's widescreen version of the film was in fact two different aspect ratios....I didn't like the first part of the film being like it was....

I also was shocked at the transfer. like Joe Carioca wrote about above. I thought it might be my tv or dvd but if others are having the same problem....uggg

And I just finished watching Pocahontas (on VHS

). I had never noticed before, but this is essentially Romeo & Juliet.

First, my complaints: dialogue was at times a little too corny, the two side characters should have talked, and I'm not that into the nature thing.

That having been said, the songs are great, it's a good story, and I enjoyed it more this time than I have ever before. I've seen this one a number of times, but it's been a few years since the last time. It could have been better, but compared to some other things that have been put out, this one's a gem.

Also, just watched the Rankin/Bass Easter special on DVD - "Here comes Peter Cottontail"...

I watched Monster's, Inc. last night. A number of times on this site, I've stated that I watched it, but didn't pay close attention at all, and came away thinking it was only "so-so." Last night I sought to correct that, and man am I glad I did. It is sooooo good, I can't wait to buy it. While I haven't said anything bad about the film, I retract anything I've said that was less than laudatory (that is if laudatory is a word, of course... not sure if it is

).

I also watched about half of Tron and couldn't get through it. I had never tried watching it before and- wow- I just couldn't take it. I'm not normally one to stop watching movies if I'm not into them (they normally pick up), but I was struggling to pay attention, and I do mean struggling. It is definitely an 80s film, and I'm sure it would have been great at the time, but I think it's one of those films that can't really be appreciated on a first-viewing outside of that decade. Despite the cool looking case and the fact that it's a 2-Disc set, I don't think I'll ever purchase this one.

I just watched Bambi for the first time since I was very small... wasn't crazy 'bout it then, and I'm still not now. It's just "ok."

This past week I watch Kinapped, Tresure Island, The Story of Robin Hood, The Sword and the Rose and Davy Crockett King of the Wild Frontier on VHS.
All of these movies are old and are wonderful to check out.
IMO I would not buy any of these films.
Maybe only Treasure Island.
I already have the Walt Disney's Tresure Tins of Davy Crockett.

Today I watched "Sport Goofy: Soccermania" on video. It had been a lot of time since I saw it last time. Not bad, but not very good either. A lot of famous names over the credits.
Does anyone here knows about the production story behind this obscure short?
