I think that total's going to grow a little more before the film finishes in foreign markets. This movie's done domestically, but it's still premiering in other countries. I'm hoping the film's international "flavor" can help push ticket sales and bump the totals up to $80 million minimum (then we'd at least be able to say it grossed half of what its predecessor did), but we'll just have to see. I'd like for us to get at least one more Muppet film from Bobin/Stoller/McKenzie to make the whole thing a "trilogy," and then let the franchise take a break to focus on TV.
As for the blu-ray, I'm most excited for the extended cut. I hope it goes more toward extending some of the songs back to their original lengths (poor Gonzo was cut from "The Interrogation Song" entirely) and giving the supporting Muppets more screentime. The Statler and Waldorf cut is bound to be hilarious, as is the blooper reel (which is apparently even longer this time!). And hey, a featurette for Rizzo! I'm still crossing my fingers for a commentary, but what we're getting is pretty much everything I wanted.
Damn, August 12 is going to break my wallet.
On another note, if you haven't already bought Intrada's release of these movies' background music, you really should. The cues from the first film in particular are amazing. I'm so glad to be able to listen to "Moral Support" and "We Fail Together" (among others) without having to pop my blu-ray in.

Good news! Here's an article about a possibly third movie starring the Muppets, if Muppets Most Wanted does well with DVD and Blu-ray sales. And a possibly a new tv series starring The Muppets.

So, if you want see another MUppet movie and tv series, I encourage you to buy Muppets Most Wanted when it comes out.

I'd rather that they put out seasons 4 & 5 of The Muppet Show.

Can't argue that, but right now, they're releasing Muppets Most Wanted.
