^^ Yes, I agree, those would make great covers. I fully support the use of original movie posters as the DVD/ Blu Ray covers. It has always seemed silly to me that they go to such lengths to make beautiful movie posters, just to never use them again. I also love how simple they look, and yet they look great.

It was important to me that with my covers, the original poster art be used somehow. For the individual covers I've been thinking of doing, my idea was something between your covers and my multi-film covers. I love it, thanks for sharing!

I always thought it'd be cool to have the slipcovers be the teaser posters, and the actual covers be the real posters.

^ That would be so cool! Disney would never, ever do that though. :(

Here is Volume Seven, finally:

<a href="http://s170.photobucket.com/albums/u267 ... venWIP.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u267 ... venWIP.jpg" border="0" alt="Disney Masterpeice Vol 7 V1 WIP 001"></a>

How do people feel about the blue by the way? I was going to have a blue and red version, but recently (in part to actions by Disney themselves) came up with an idea to make each version it's own distinct set. I'll explain more soon, but for now, how does this one look?

Wow, the blue looks great! Especially with the blue around Simba.

Ok, big idea time:

<a href="http://s170.photobucket.com/albums/u267 ... evenV2.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u267 ... evenV2.jpg" border="0" alt="Disney Masterpeice Vol 7 V2 WIP 001"></a>

Ok, so I originally had three different styles for the "Masterpiece Collection." Then I decided that only the blue and red versions looked good. But it still bothered me having two different colors for the same set. Then it came to me, what if one of the colors was a different version entirely? I have planed on making a set that is basically every non-DAC, which would most be DTV films. But as it is so far down my to-do list, this way, the DTV films have some kind of cover for those that want it.

So, blue is pure DAC and red is DAC with their DTV films. Think of it as glorified bonus discs, I do. What gave me this idea was how Disney is releasing "The Fox and the Hound" on blu ray with it's DTV films. Now some of you may have noticed that "Pocahontas" and "Hunchback" are missing first off. This is becuase while I can fit the DTV films in the same volumes the main set has on volumes 1 to 6, just the three films on this alternate version have way too many discs when tehir DTV films are added. So, it starts to be different between the various versions from volume seven on.

The next thing you may notice is that "The Return of Jafar"and "Aladdin and the King of Thieves" is missing. Besides the fact that it would mean breaking the films up more then they already are to fit that many discs, I also decided that DTV films like the "Aladdin" ones and the "Lilo and Stitch" ones (sans L&S 2) are more glorified pilots and conclusions for the various series, and so should be in those cases. Hope that make sense. Anyway, enjoy, Volume 8 should be up soonish.

Hey all,

I need some help. I need to find Hi Res pictures for Aladar and Plio (possible other lemurs) from "Dinosaur," Chicken Little and Fish Out of Water from "Chicken Little," Lewis and Wilbur from "Meet the Robinsons," Bolt and Rhino from "Bolt," and lastly Hook-Hand Thug from "Tangled."

Because they are CGI characters, for them to look good on my covers, I'm going to need the best possible versions of all of them. So, I need some help doing this. Thanks!

Those all look great! However I believe you misspelled "usher" as "user" on the last two, unless that is how you spell when using it that way.

Red Version of Volume Eight is done:

I'm stuck on the Blue Version, but hope to have it done soon. I'm thinking of trying to find a better version for both of the "Hercules" characters. I had a horrid time before though, so I'm not sure if I can do better. Thoughts?

Ladies and Gents, the first nine volumes of my "Walt Disney Masterpiece Collection" is finally finished. It took a long time, but I finally have covers to be proud of and feel I can move on to the next series of Disney covers.

I decided to stop making the covers that included the DTV films. It was a mistake, however, sometime down the road, they will get their own covers.

I'm still working on Volume 10, but the CG characters are going to take me some time, so I'll work on it as I work on the next round of covers, which will be based on the various Disney shorts, starting with Mickey Mouse. My thanks to phideaux1 (from another forum), who has helped me with these covers thus far. I don't know if they would have looked as nice without his assistance.

Also, I'm going to start taking down some of my older versions of these covers, so if you start seeing images missing in this thread, that is why.

Finally, until the web site issue is resolved, anyone who is actually interested in any of these covers, please feel free to e-mail me at <milojthatch> and I'll gladly send you a copy. All nine covers come in three sizes, one for 5-8 discs, one for 9-10 discs and finally one for 11-12. A size for 13-14 discs for certain covers may be around the corner later, but I'll make sure I mention it if that happens. If you want to know so places to buy empty DVD cases, check these two sites out: <http> and <https> Anyway, enjoy the covers!

The Mickey cover of course is still a rough draft, but should give a basic idea of what it will look like. Thanks!

Sorry, I copied and pasted this exact post from when I originally also posted it on the custom DVD cover forum I'm on, and the bit about a web site was from discussions there. I've been looking into setting up a web site to host all my covers so people can simply down load whatever for free. That is what I was talking about, but no worries. Thanks, I hope to have a new update soonish.
