If they move the line to Blu I have a feeling we'd just get re-issues of what was previously released. I can't see them picking up where they left off on a new format exclusively like that. We don't want the same Treasures material re-released over and over again. We want more un-released material. Seeing as BD players are backwards convertible there's no reason for them to go into re-release mode just yet. (I know a good number is out of print but still.)
I personally don't care about the live-action material that is why I haven't picked any sets of those kinds, and will not pick up any future sets of those. So I relay don't want them repeat those sets. But I would love to see the animated material getting blu-ray treatment as Disney of course is the ONLY big six Studio that started out as animated studio. And some of those shorts there needs corrections there and there, as I posted earlier in this thread. But that doesn't mean that I wouldn't welcome new sets of material that havent't been relsesed before. Allthough I will not pick up any sets that are live-action.

There is certainly no commercial excuse for not putting out the remaining animated shorts and TV hours with original animation from the Walt Disney Productions era.

Ludwig VonDrake, for example, is a major part of the Walt Disney animation story.

I 100% agree with this post. But I want add that they ever decide to go back to the already released sets I hope they corrects the problem that I posted earlier along with all other problems they might find that I have not spoted.

WDT WAVE# 10 DISNEY WILL NOT BE RELEASEING ANY THIS YEAR!!!

Without Walt Disney Treasures, "Song of the South," Walt era DMC exclusives or Walt Disney TV series season sets... and unless the "Dumbo" and rumored "Alice" (Walt's version) blu-rays actually come out this year...

Walt's people will surely feel abandoned by the brand.

So I guess Disney's home video arm will only feed off of re-releases and day-and-date movies. No tv shows (aside from ABC) as usual, and no old material.

Great.

I guess we can be grateful for what we did get. Who knows if we'll ever see anything like the Disney Treasures again.

No real shock at all. Sales and edition numbers have been dropping in the last few years. Oh well, at least we got some good stuff while it lasted.

Are we 100% sure that this latest information of that there is no Wave X this year are 100% correct. I have seen cases were the people at the costumers desks have not have any knowledge about what is going on behind there backs. So I will chose to with holds my judgment on this info until I see something more official about this matter. But Im in no means calling the honesty of the poster msh1975 into question. But I want point out that the wave 9 was not announced until somewhere in the middle of may. So there still change if given infos are correct for Disney company to change there mind.

So Why dont we try to start letter campingan and petitions to try to convince them to continue if the given info are correct.

I like the idea....its the price of the re-release on blu ray I don't like...

anyway I called Disney and I said my views on they should for sure continue the treasures...she said she didn't have any info whether there will be or not....but they took my name address and phone number and I shared with the gal that maybe Song of the South should be released under the treasures wave and she said that's defintley sounds logical...and she said she would pass that along to Disney marketing and I mentioned if they ever needed anyone to speak about my Meeting with Roy through Make a Wish im there guy becaue I want to make sure his message lives on even without him physically here....and she said she will for sure pass that on to the marketing and any other Disney people she can think of....

because you see...they can't contact me to talk about my Make A wish experience...because its all secretive and privacy policy of make a wish...but if I make myself known....you never know....

Also...msh1975 maybe the treasures did "end".....but you never know what they could create next in place of Treasures....for all we know they might just be making a new brand Walt Disney's (insert new name here) that could be because they want a new name for the line.....with Brave and Tangled perhaps Disney wants to do a lot of Name changes...the turned Platinum into Diamond....so for all we know Disney is liking name changes a little bit too much

If the rights holders are no longer interested in Walt, maybe they could be convinced to license the classic material to other companies like Shout Factory, Anchor Bay or TCM that specialize in film/TV buffs?

I would not like that for the simple reason that it would most likely mean that we would get stuff we already have. I want stuff we don't have yet.

But Blu-Ray is a new format, we're going to need to get old stuff sometime. We need the shorts etc in sweet HD, that's enough for me.
