There's something mentioned in the article about something that I hadn't heard before (about a character that I didn't know about), so if you want a totally spoiler-free movie experience, maybe don't read, but the article has Randy Newman talking about the styles of music in the film.
Newman mines Big Easy music for 'Frog'

I think that otter Newman mentions in the article is probably someone who was cut from the movie.

I downloaded the soundtrack (yes, SUE ME!)
and man do I LOVE the songs. There's not a single one I don't love. Randy did good.
A wonderful departure from the Broadway style of Menken. Wich will receive an extra warm welcome back next year when Rapunzel hits theaters.

Ok, yeah... I "acquired" the soundtrack also. I'm only listening to the first 3 songs or so which I've already heard in full.
I'm trying to hold out til next Wednesday!
