According to my Disney calendar, Fantasia 2000 turns 10 today. Fantasia will be 70 later this year, so Disney will have some anniversaries to tie in with these Diamond releases, something Pinocchio and Sleeping Beauty had that Snow White lacked (if they waited 2 years, they could've tied in with the 75th anniversary, quite a big one).
Oh well, can't wait to see some cover art or list of bonus material or something. BTW, upon repeat viewing of the trailer, I'm now pretty sure that Fantasia is not using the new restoration but looks great none the less (I love how the sparkles/pixie dust stuff looks in HD).

Each only about a year less. I would have thought Disney would just add the Anniversary label to them anyway. But didn't Snow White just have its 70th Anniversary last year though, even though it wasn't on the Diamond release?

No, Snow White came out in 1937.

Sure, because all 1937 releases have their 70th Anniversary in 2008-09.

T_T.
Aw, my bad. I thought Snow White was a 1939 release.
Still, Sleeping Beauty and Pinocchio both had the Anniversary labels accordingly, both a year off.

OK everyone, I got the trailer off my player and on my computer. I'm in the process of uploading in onto YouTube in HD. Its in the .M2T format (which I can only view using VLC), so I don't know if it'll upload right, but I'm uploading it now anyways as it'll take almost an hour. I'm searching for a format converter so I can get it to something YouTube friendly and upload that also.
I'll post the link for all those interested when it gets done and if it works

This diamond edition had me thinking so Ive come up with a plan that they could do.
Fantasia's spring 2010
Batb fall 2010
for 2011 theyre going to need a march title so they should add a film that did good on vhs like the emperors new groove.
The Lion King- fall 2011- major seller and this along with the new pixar film(s) would potentialy make 2011 the year in which bluray sales surpass dvd sales.
2012- they could either add 2 new titles which could be aladdin bcause it is still a strong enough title for a spring release.
for october they could do winnie the pooh as it would be a good seller and promotion for the sequel and another rerelease of something pooh. Plus with it making 3 billion a year in merchandise it could pratically fund the diamond line. add some other anniversary titles and they could call it the year of anniversaries, and I,m pretty sure that disney's favorite phrases for dvd promotion are anniversary and for the first time on...
there's probably no chance of 2011 and 2012 happening but if I were disney I would've done that cuz it makes sense.

Emperor's New Groove is not coming to the Diamond Line any time soon.
And Blu-ray sales will not be surpassing DVD anytime soon either.

I agree. Aladdin should never have been removed from the Diamond/Platinum/whatever lineup.

Winnie the Pooh would probably be the next beast Diamond release, considering just how famous is, almost setting up a whole new company in itself with merchandise, labels, etc.

OMG the trailer is awesome!
i just got so excited for this release I can't wait to get it!!!!
The Fantasia World thing still confuses me though, to me it implies there is more than just One by One, The Little Matchgirl, and Lorenzo. I don't know if Lorenzo has been on anything because I know I havn't seen it, but the other two have been released so they aren't "never before seen". I'm still extremely excited, I just hope it's something worth being excited about.

That's one of the most classy Disney trailers that I've seen in a while. I seriously can't wait for these on Blu!! Hopefully the trailer will be on Dumbo with a release date and I pray that they release these separately and not as a stupid combo pack!

Lorenzo and Destino have never been released and One by One and The Little Match Girl were released quietly enough they could advertise them as never-before-seen-animated-shorts and most definitely get away with it. Either way, 2 out of 4 have never been released and they were all part of Fantasia 2006 (which I assume they're collecting together and calling Fantasia World, in addition the the announced doc on Destino and probably a new one on all the shorts [I hope they got Roy to talk about Fantasia 2000 & 2006]).
I just hope it retains a majority of the old bonus features as they sound truly fan pleasing.
