When I recently sat down with Robert Neuman, the stereographer on Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King 3D reissues, he revealed to me that he’s been at work on Prep & Landing too:
"We’re finishing up a 3D version of our Prep & Landing TV thing. That will potentially get a future Blu-ray release. The new one is great – that’s the one I’m working on now – and we may go back and do the previous ones. And I’m also starting on Wreck-It Ralph in the near future".

I was lucky enough to see Prep and Landing Naughty Vs. Nice last night at the premiere, and I think it was fantastic. There's a couple nice plot points that they have done a good job of not giving away. I can't wait to see it on ABC in a couple weeks.

Q: 'Prep & Landing' is becoming a tradition to watch on television every holiday. Any plans for another holiday special?
KEVIN DETERS and STEVIE WERMER-SKELTON: Yes! That's all we can share.

So a 3rd one is in the works? Or are they talking about the 2nd one?

I'm guessing then we'll be seeing more "Prep and Landing" DVD's in the future?

They're talking about another one after 'Naughty vs. Nice'. So the 4th one if you count 'Operation Secret Santa', or the 3rd one if you don't.

Excited to hear they're probably working on a third.
I'm all for the idea of combining all of them when they're done and releasing it as a film. I would love to see Prep and Landing work it's way into the Official 'DAC' Canon. Maybe then it would get the attention it deserves.

I watched the special and really liked it. However, I felt that the running time was too short for all the new elements and characters introduced. The story and the character development felt a bit rushed. It could have been easily expanded into a full-length feature. I think for next year they should go for a made-for-TV movie instead of just another special.
I was also not pleased with the character design for Grace; it was too similar to Penny's from Bolt. They probably used the same one with a few minor alterations here and there.

'Christmas Story' Easter Egg in 'Prep & Landing: Naughty vs. Nice'
http://jimhillmedia.com/editor_in_chief ... -quot.aspx
There were a couple of other Easter eggs as well. Grace's pajamas are apparently from the Disney Princess line and feature a stylized Snow White, Cinderella, and Rapunzel. Does anyone know who designed those princesses? The particular style seems quite familiar.
There was also a Mickey Mouse plush and a Nessie plush (from
The Ballad of Nessie). Nessie also made an appearance as a silhouette in the previous
Prep & Landing: Operation Secret Santa. Of course, it's no coincidence since the directors of the
Prep & Landing specials are also the directors of
The Ballad of Nessie short.

I gotta say that I agree with SWillie! I really hope there ultimately is some sort of anthology film along the lines of Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh that makes its way into the DAC canon. And I would love to take my kids to a Disney park some day and have them be able to meet Lanny and Wayne in person. They love the first Prep & Landing and watch it regularly. We DVR'd the new installment last night they wanted to watch it again tonight.
As for Grace looking a bit like Penny, I wasn't sure whether that was lazy or intentional, given how the German shepherd in the first Prep & Landing was basically a colorized version of Bolt (or at least I think I remember reading that somewhere). In any event, the resemblance to Penny didn't bother me.

Nessie actually showed up in Operation Secret Santa in the workshop.

I saw Naughty vs Nice and while not as good as the original, it was enjoyable enough that I would love to see this become an annual or biannual thing. The little girl was just the right about of adorable, not overbearingly so.
