Lol, it'd be mighty interesting if one day we're at Tunes or MovieStop at the same time and don't realize it.

(contemplates heading over to one of them now to scope out the Disney DVDs before you do. :P And I do have to reserve "Doctor Who: Four to Doomsday" at MovieStop, so I have added incentive to heading over there. )

I was there yesterday so I beat you to it.

That would be interesting. 8)

They never seem to have used/older Disney treasures there (unless you buy them first. lol)

The only used Treasures I ever saw was Chrono Donald Volumes 1 and 2, and I bought the Volume 2 and AFAIK Volume 1 is still there.

So, now that we are into 2009, does anybody happen to know when we can expect an annoucement for Wave 9?

Zorro in Wave 9 ? I think not

Through the Disney Movie Club, I now have 10, count em !! 10, discs full of Zorro.

And I am not sure if that is all of it. I need to cross-check. According to TV.com, there was a third season, but it only lists 4 episodes.

Anything that would fit in a Disney Treasures tin would be a sad little teaser in comparison.

Not surprisingly, I would like to see the Von Drake collection.

Disney confirms it but you say no? I think I'll go with Disney.

Not only are the 4 hour long episodes (made for Walt Disney Presents) not released, there are 2 feature length edits of the series not released plus bonus features.

So Zorro in the WDT line would be more of a Zorro movie release than tv episodes, right? In other words the edited together versions that are feature length? I won't buy this treasure set, but i'm all for it as I do think Zorro should get some representation in the WDT line at some point.

It would most likely include the 4 hour long anthology episodes (which were made for that series and not edited into feature length cuts) that will most likely not be released elsewhere and for that reason alone it would be worth buying (that and bonus features since the seasons 1 and 2 sets don't have them).

(Vol. 4 occasionally pops back in-stock too, but it rarely stays there for more than a few minutes)
I don't know if they really have it in stock, but you can try it out Escapay

Thanks, jrboy. I got a PM from Dave about it as well.

I actually found it at 3 in the morning and Kram made an order for it with free two-day shipping (I'm guessing he's got Amazon Prime). So all that needs to be done now is the waiting...god, the waiting!!!

About a Zorro WDT
I would like to reverse my previous opinion about it. After checking the Volume 2 discs that recently arrived, I find that The Collection is incomplete. TV-dot-com lists a third season of 4 episodes Link
And then I found this page and this page which talk about…
After the series was cancelled, four one-hour specials were aired as part of Walt Disney Presents. Each episode features an introduction by Walt Disney. The first two specials tell the story of Zorro's battle with an outlaw who guesses his identity. During the third special, Zorro tries to delay a wedding so that the young girl has time to think about her decision. During the final special, Diego must face his greatest fencing rival from Spain and try to keep him from discovering and revealing that he is Zorro.
Sounds like perfect WDT content to me - along with some extras :D

The "young girl" is our own Annette reprising her role as Anita Cabrillo!

Yes, these four one hour Zorro shows - plus the two compilation features ("The Sign of Zorro" and "Zorro the Avenger") would be perfect!

...And isn't it about time that Guy Williams gets the Disney Legend award??? I can't believe he has been overlooked to date.

So, what animated sets are we predicting? Do you think there will be 3 or 4 sets total this wave?

We seem to have set one down. (Zorro)

The predictions have been posted numerous times :P Ranger Woodlore and Ludwig seem to be ones people are hoping for the most, and People and Places which I assume is animated I've actually never seen them (I think)

I doubt we'll get 4 sets in the wave going by the fact we've barely gotten the last 2? Waves never mind getting 4 sets in a wave.

People and Places are not animated. They are in the same vein as the True Life Adventures.....and I really really hope we will get them in next wave! :)

With Zorro confirmed and Ludwig hinted at, I think a second volume of Rarities would be the most likely third choice. In fact, I'm speculating that the reason the three Chip 'n' Dale shorts were kept off of Donald vol. 4 (instead of being added as bonus features a la the Figaro shorts on Pluto vol. 2) is so they can anchor and, more importantly, be put on the front cover of the second Rarities set to help boost sales of an otherwise difficult-to-sell volume.

Or better yet - - a "Chip an' Dale Treasures" set including all the shorts and their TV hour with the catchy theme song!
