Hmm...

I have a feeling that's just a rough draft. Like the first Sword in the Stone: 45th Anniversary cover. Nice, but not very professional.

The cover art is okay, I think Ariel looks the worst though, her hair and her shell top look weird. The concept is nice, but I think it needs to be cleaned up a lot more.

You could just copy and paste the URLs into your browser. basically, he just posted the initial and final cover of TLM: AB. This is the comparison supertalies made when the second one came out. Final on the left, original on the right.

No problem. :)

I'm still REALLY hoping for an "salmon" color scheme, although with this as the general layout, I doubt it's likely. :(

Gah, I nearly missed this!

The cover art thus far looks . . . better than the original release, for one thing. The original cover did showcase the fact that Melody is the star, but it was bland and boring to me. This one, despite the lack of Eric (or even anyone from above the waves, for that matter!), it does seem rather awkward as well. I agree, Ariel's hair has now turned into a cape and she still looks 16-ish (GAWD, by the time she returns to her mermaid form, she should still be . . . like late-20s, not the age that she last was a mermaid! But then again if you ponder on the not-so-great animation within the film itself . . . ), but actually Flounder does seem almost right for that period in the film (12 years later . . . I mean, "Almost" is the key word there.). As for no Tip and Dash . . . meh. Sure they're Melody's friends, but I'd prefer them on the back cover plz. At least the main key characters are here - Ariel, Melody, Triton, Morgana, Flounder and Sebastian (*cough-cough* Needs Eric plz *cough-cough*).

However, I understand why it's mainly an underwater cover - it's not called "Return to the Sea" for nothing, yes?

As for the features, I think the Jodi Benson storybook was in the original release. That was actually my favorite bonus feature from that version, but I can't wait for the deleted song! (*crosses fingers* Please be a singing Melody or Ariel . . . pleaseeeeeeeeeeee.) But yeah, I betcha it's a Morgana song . . . what's a villain without a song, yes? (even if it's a DTV sequel and the sister of the awesome Ursula)

And as for which version I'll buy (either the TLM2 DVD or the Trilogy set), I'm not sure at the moment. I'll probably stick with the single film (since I already have the TLM Platinum and TLM:AB . . . both with slipcovers! YAY.). Either way, I get my Movie Reward Points, so I'm happy.

Again, I'm hoping the cover gets a few changes by the final art and the release.

About the deleted scene/song.

In the original trailer for the original release of TLM2, there was a second of Ariel looking through a boat window and saying 'Melody'.
However, this bit was never in the movie. Maybe this is a clue to the deleted scene.

I searched everywhere to find the original trailer, but I didn't found it, only together with a trailer of 101 Dalmatiens.
So you have to wait a second.

It's at 2:16 minutes.

EDIT: I took a picture of it.
Obviously, she is yelling 'Melody!'

I noticed this the last time I saw TLM2 with my sister. I had us watch the trailers for "Extremely Goofy Movie" first ('cause I remember that it was on there), and then we watched the movie. When it was over, I had us watch the trailer again, and I noticed that that particular shot wasn't in the movie. So we went through the middle of the movie again, and I couldn't find it.

I just figured it was probably there and I was forgetting that I've seen it. So I guess now I'm not crazy! :P

However, I don't really want this to be the deleted song...

I didn't watch the video (though I have a VHS with the original advertisement--Tarzan, I think) because YouTube videos take forever on poor, miserable dial-up. But, from the pictures posted, the pose kind of reminds me of when Ariel and Triton come into the palace to find the trident missing and find Melody's locket. "Melody!" And then, the second one kind of looks like when she sees Cloak and Dagger--"I know those two!" Could be completely wrong, but that's what it reminds me of.

I took a look at it and the audio seems off sync, so it could have just been taken from anywhere else and placed there, or maybe it's just the way the video uploaded.

No, you're right- it is out of sync. However, in the trailer, almost everything is dubbed over with audio from a different scene (such as Ariel's "Melody can't know about merpeople, or Atlantica..." from the opening scene is dubbed over "I should have know I couldn't keep her away..." or whatever).

Then again, almost everything in TLM2 is out of sync (dialog-wise). I think the most noticeable is Morgana's "finally, I'll succeed at the one thing my sister never could!" while spinning around and looking at the audience. That's one of the main reasons why I think that the deleted song might be Morgana's (other than the fact that Ursula and Marina had one), perhaps that shot came from her song? I mean really- even Grimsby sang line.

There's also the really big chance that it could be one for Sebastian. He only got part of the opening song and most of the closing one, but it was his song that won the Oscar, you'd think they would try to follow up on that. Not to mention the fact that the songs on the soundtrack (that aren't featured on the movie) are all from Samuel E. Wright's "Party Gras!" (or whatever).

Whatever, I'd be happy with anything as long as it's not Tip and Dash. Or Flounder- he was just nasty in this movie. Or Triton... that could be interesting, though. :P

I would be interested to hear a Morgana song. Everything about her is the complete opposite of Ursula (including Pat Carrol's lower range for the original film and her natural, higher range for Morgana) and I would be interested in how they would spin a song from her. The songs from RttS actually weren't too bad, so I'm sure I would enjoy it somewhat.

I disagree, this one of the best Disney covers.
And "meet Ariel's daughter?" I"m pretty sure that many people are trying to forgot her,not re-meet her.

this looks cheap and unprofessional. the best disney cover imo is 101 Dalmatians PE and the Lion King PE.
