From Narniaweb.com

EMI CMG will release two soundtracks with music inspired by The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. The first soundtrack will be released on September 27th and will feature a wide range of Christian artists. The following artists are slated to appear on the album:

- Steven Curtis Chapman
- tobyMac
- Nichole Nordeman
- Jars of Clay
- Newsboys
- Jeremy Camp
- Rebecca St. James
- Chris Tomlin
- Delirious?
- Bethany Dillon
- David Crowder Band

This album will be followed by a soundtrack featuring mainstream pop and rock artists, which is scheduled to be released on October 25.
...That's disappointing. :( Another example of the genre passing up on the best-selling artist in its history. Maybe she's gonna be on the pop one, though. At least Jars of Clay is on there! There are a few other good ones too, but I don't listen to a whole lot of CCM music. Thanks for posting this, BM.

The Chronicles of Narnia Teaser Poster

I decided to make this a new thread since our other Narnia threads have been too specific to stick this in. Luke has posted a link to the poster on the main page, and you can find a SUPER high-res version of it here.

What do I have to say about it? Holy. Freaking. Crap. (this is "crap" in the positive sense of the word). This has to be the most amazing teaser poster I've ever seen; every major character is on there. I can't see how Disney can top this with a final release poster. I'd love for this to be the film's DVD cover (look at me; the movie's not even out, yet, and I'm already thinking about the DVD...).

Use this link instead of the one DK posted, because it doesn't work... they don't want you hotlinking their ish.

Is this is disney movie? If not, it should go in off-topic.

Oh yeah, I don't like the poster. Its too busy, and I would NOT want this to be the design of the DVD cover.

How can you even ask this question? It's on the front page, the first line of the poster (which is entirely clear through Dave's link), and in the Coming to Theaters section for over a year now. You do know there's a site beyond the forum, right?

I disagree Alan. I think you need the Lion, the witch and the protaganist.
Outside of the sword bearing guys on the left, which balance off(wazhernameagain?) from a design perspective.

I think it is quite good.

 Yes, Alan, it is indeed a Disney movie.

The witch had a bad hair day, it seems. I hate the hair flying everywhere on there. I agreed with everyone that the poster looks too busy, but I think the focus on Aslan is excellent.

Its ok for a movie poster, but NOT FOR A DVD COVER

That's right up there with a theatrical release poster. The colors are vibrant, great contrast, the characters look good, I'm impressed. I am getting more and more excited to see this film everytime I see something new revealed about it. At first I didn't care, but now I'm considering seeing it when it comes out. The poster really makes the series look like it's going to be a huge epic saga like Star Wars or Lord of the Rings.

Whoops, I didn't know my link would've done that. I guess the image is still in my cache because the poster shows up just fine when I click the link. Either way, I edited my post with the link that Dave provided.

From what I've read, that actually isn't her hair. It's (spoiler alert):

Aslan's mane. After she kills him on the stone table, she shaves his mane off and uses it as a headress in defiance, which is pretty cool, I think.

I think it looks awesome! It reminds me of the DVD cover for the first Harry Potter which was like Indiana Jones and a bunch of other movies. I like it. I think they have the same lion for the big softcover collection of the Chronicles of Narnia. I can't wait for this movie!

I actually like it. After looking at it for a long time!
The "blend" shows what the movie is about.
Like...good photoshop/psp skills man.

Speaking of that, who did that banner on the front page? Aside from the "good choice of putting Vin in there", it looks neat! 8)

Also, if you look at the poster it say "Walt Disney Pictures....Presents". Dude, pay attention.

Definetly not too busy. I like how all the gaps are filled. This poster makes me more excited about the release. I think this would make a great DVD cover. What if Disney did something new and put just the lion's face on the slipcover? That would be sweet.

Holy crap I haven't been this excited about so many movies since forever (first Batman and RotS, now this!). Poster looks awesome, and so does the movie! I'll be there opening weekend for sure!

It's a good poster, not a great one but a good one. I feel it maybe is a little busy. I feel the promo art the poster has been made up from looks better on its own.

Narnia to get mass marketing

All done by the people who marketed the Passion.

Seems this will be like one of Disney's biggest events of the year.

Very interesting. I'm glad Disney's not shying away from the novel's Christian roots. Here's hoping Narnia makes a Passion-sized profit. From what I've seen, it really deserves to, and could end up being the highest grossing film ever from Disney (or at least the highest grossing live action film).

Very expected that Disney would super-hype up the film. It's one of those films...
