First, I don't think Snow Queen is a real royal title. It's more like a nickname just like Tarzan is labeled "King of the Jungle". If Elsa rejoins her sister, they could run the kingdom together. Also, we don't know if their parents will be alive in the movie. If so, they'd be the ones ruling the kingdom.
Could be yes. Man, we really know nothing about this film, do we?

Love it.

Hi guys!!! I was seeing this concept art:

Image

and so, I was thinking about the synopsis of the movie we know so far.
Well, If that woman is Elsa, I don't think that's the Snow Queen outfit, it looks more like a bridal gown, so, maybe at the first part of the movie she was just about to marry, and for some reason, she got broken hearted and made some type of deal with magic, and for that reason she got her frozen heart.

I think something like that would be interesting, many of the Disney movies are about learn to love someone and fall in love, but none of them is about heal a broken heart.

Also, there is this place:

Image

It's not a palace or a castle, but clearly is a place from a rich family, and if you see the windows and the plants in front of them, and compare it with the "Bride" concept, it's the same place.
That place it's not like a winter village, so, it can be from the first part of the film I'm talking about.

It's just a theory, I need something else!! New stuff from this movie!!! I'm so excited about it =)

So is Elsa going to be a villain or is there someone else to be a villain?

Even if the film is barely based on the Snow Queen original fairy tale, there's no villain but the Snow Queen. I don't think they're going much far of it.
Also the devil appears in the prologue, but he only breaks a mirror and spread the pieces above the earth. He doesn't appear anymore.

I'm sure the only antagonist is Elsa.

Exactly what i was writing a few days ago...

Don’t we have a new NO-REAL-VILAIN case here, AGAIN ??!!! Elsa is not that bad, just a cursed victim. Or if she is, she has to be really maleficient, vicious, not just sad and sneezy and depressed ! And if she's not, the real villain might be the devil, a troll (like in original story), or just a winter spirit or sorcerer they will create... Elsa really could be a kind of Grimhilde Queen or Gothel, so obsessed by beauty and power that she turned cold, selfish and distant (or because of a brokenhearted love, i love that idea !)… or did she made a pact with devil ? Who or what conjured the spell and who, what exactly is cursed ? Anna, Elsa, the Kingdom ? All of them ?... Sometimes the scripts seem like a winter spell is cast on the kingdom and Anna go and look for Elsa TO break the spell, like if she was a helping friend not responsible of the spell.
Like they charmingly kept Rapunzel original main ideas (the flower, the « let down ur hair » phrase, the magic tear), will they keep a bit of the original story (in the middle of all those changes and new stuff) ? Like the evil Mirror, the snowflake in the eye, Elsa seducing Kristoff and turning him frozen too for a while….

Anyway, i already picture the dazzling finale, Fantasia 2000 kind, where all bad things melt, where sun and spring explode and Elsa turns warm, sweet and beautiful again ! Sure we WILL have that !

That's the thing, I was thinking that Elsa could be a good woman, and maybe her dream is to become a queen everyone will love, but then her heart is broken and she make a deal with devil or someone else, to have magic powers and that way she becomes Snow Queen, and because she wants everybody to feel her cold, she make the eternal winter spell.
Maybe she spend many years alone that way, and the mission of her sister Anna is to get to her heart and make her understand her life doesn't have to be that way, that she can love and be loved again.
(It's a plot more adult than the other Disney films, about the love thing, but maybe it's something like that)

Thanks, I misinterpreted and thought it was being said that Elsa would go into the Disney Princess line which confused me because she's the film's villain.

One of the songs sung by Elsa the Snow Queen will be called "Let It Go".

They also showed concept art along with final character designs from Frozen (formerly The Snow Queen). When I first heard months ago about the name change and the fact that they were no longer animating it traditionally, I was disappointed. I was still slightly disappointed when I saw the character design for one of the sisters, Anna, mainly because I was expecting something a little more...fantastical? But then they showed us Elsa, whose design I fell in love with immediately (and I couldn't help but think, she would make a gorgeous LE doll! lol). We were also treated to a performance of one of Elsa's songs in the movie, "Let It Go". It's a powerful ballad, and it's still in my head!

The amazing highlight was the fall 2013 movie "Frozen". They showed art, storyboards, and told much of the story. They had a live presentation of a Song from Frozen that was wonderful and moving. The background art looks great. The main characters are two beautiful princess sisters from Norway.

A preview of next year's animated musical Frozen (2013), a telling of The Snow Queen. It looks gorgeous, with some of the artwork reminiscent of Mary Blair's style. Idina Menzel of Broadway's Wicked and Disney's Enchanted (2007) voices the title role, with Kristen Bell co-starring.

Another was the work-in-progress Frozen, a contemporary musical film, loosely based on the Snow Queen. We were treated to a performance of one of the songs "Let it Go," which will be sung by Idina Menzel, from Wicked.

I defaintly having something itching on the fact that Elsa would at least be shown at symphatic if she is an AntiVillian.I was also think that maybe Elsa and Anna used to have a sibling rivarly that tore them apart. And now that Elsa and the land has been cursed she would try to find a way to amend her relationship with her sister.

It's official. Disney won't be releasing any images any time soon. :(
And with no cameras allowed (even we can’t post the images that were shown at the event), D23 Members were the first public audience to see dozens of images from the upcoming computer-animated film. Frozen features the vocal talents of film/TV/stage star Kristen Bell as Anna, a young dreamer about to take the adventure of a lifetime, and Tony Award®-winning actress Idina Menzel as Elsa the Snow Queen.

Oh well, it just gives us all something to look forward to after Wreck-It Ralph is released. The artwok has been highly praised so it should be worth the wait.

Dang! But that's okay. We don't want to get spoiled anyway. Hey I rhyme!

Is it really being spoiled for just a character image or 2 of the characters of Frozen. Now asking for a full trailer, now that would be spoiled. Still, Disney had no problem releasing character images to Wreck-It Ralph in August of 2011. And alot of people didn't even notice but us Disney Fans, or even cared! And in August of 2009 concept art images of Tangled were released & the first character image of Rapunzel was leaked that September. So why is Frozen being so guarded? I believe Frozen will be their most secretive film ever! I will be SHOCKED if any image gets released before the year ends. I know the 1st trailer won't drop til next June (just like WIR & Tan), & considering that Disney has yet to release a 2nd trailer for Ralph, best to just focus on that film!

I wonder if we'll get a Frozen teaser in WIR? That alone would make me go see it!

Grrrr !! I need to listen to "Let It Go" now ! But that's impossible, so, never mind...

Ladies 'n Gentlemen, i give you...

... YOUR SNOW QUEEN !

No, it's no Pixar's Merida song ;-)

She's so elegant, royal, cold and beautiful at the same time !

Incredible to see how SHE IS the character, and you can already picture her wandering through the icy corridors of her palace, cold and alone and bitter, singing so gracefully about her broken feelings, frozen emotions !

When I first saw Anna, I thought of this Disney character [the woman from the 'Once Upon a Wintertime' segment in Melody Time]

She definitely does NOT look like that, but I think it's the winter setting, the very sweet and innocent look to her that made me think of this character from Melody Time. I can say, though, that Anna looks pretty young...

Whereas Anna has a much softer look to her, Elsa is edgier, sharper. Her hair is shorter and white (or at least it appeared white to me). She has a much more regal air about her.

Kristoff's look pairs well with Anna. It's hard to remember now, but I want to say broad-shouldered while still having that "softer" look about him. Very mountain man-ish.

Olaf is a goofy little snowman. Director Chris Buck was talking to us about when you make your first pancake, it's not perfect...maybe even black on the bottom. He said Olaf is Elsa's first pancake. He has an enormous curving carrot nose, and a scrawny body that makes him look like the rest of him just melted off.

Sorry, no Hans or Sven. Unless I totally missed it...

I say that the romance will be the sideplot of the story with the main focus being the sister relationship between Elsa and Anna. The Snow Queen purists might disagree but I think the Disney's Frozen is getting more and more interesting by the minutre.Epsically with the new development of Elsa who I think has potential to be a deep character.

It makes me wonder how many changes this story has been through.Because I heard at first when it was still called Snow Queen and Eisnor was still in charge that the Snow Queen would have been about the titular character always rejecting one suitor after the next until one day a young man finally manages to win her heart.
