This could also explain why Stinky Pete was mint in box and the others were not- less kids want him, more of them will stay in mint condition.

OK, raise your hands if you didn't see this one coming...

And this must explain why Stinky Pete began to, well, stink. Because much of his life was spent doing little more than protecting the shelf from dust. He starts to feel a bit jealous of Woody...

I hope they do not find a replacement for Wheezy. No one can replace Joe Ranft. I even felt weird they were making Toy Story 3 without him.

There's a sad irony about this...

I was reading an interview on Cartoon Brew about Joe Ranft (one of Disney's most famous story man as well as a big Pixar contributor), and how his death affected the story team at Pixar heavily. I mean think about for a second...

Cars and maybe Ratatouille may be the last two Pixar films that are "fun" in their storytelling skills (as in besides the deep plot points they remain highly fun to watch). But after Joe Ranft's death the movies that came after it were sadder and dealt a lot with life and death as well as dealing with loss, themes that are in Wall-E, Up and Toy Story 3.

Even more ironic is that in my honest opinion they got much better at telling stories and made them more multifaceted than what they appear to me, and let's be honest. Even if some might think that Pixar got too high profiled considering the glut of animated films following the same formulas and the same trends Pixar NEEDED to tell these kinds of stories in order to stay on top. Plus, in these movies the sad parts feel authentic, moving and hardly forced. You can tell that the loss of a friend truly affected them, but gave them hope in that despite the harshness of life there is still a lot of beauty to enjoy.

Oh, and the image is HILARIOUS! "My tears are crying". I seriously have to put that on my Facebook!

personally, I liked Toy Story 3 because it wasnt as sad(to me) as Up. I like when they go back to doing the fun stuff.

I'm ready for Monsters Inc 2 now.

Yeah, the thing about the sad stuff for me is that while it makes the movie better, I'm not as affected after multimple viewings. the fun stuff is always fun though. This is why I want to see a Doug Sweetland directed feature. his work on Presto, and Toy Story 3 as well (he animated woody in that awesome bathroom scene for example) He knows how to make anything fun and visually appealing.

that bathroom scene was hysterical. But the way Woody runs around has always been hilarious to me. The way he jumps up and down it just cracks me up...

Oh my gosh, I can hardly keep a straight face just thinking of the way Woody runs. I love it!

Thinking about this for a sec... Isn't it funny how when Woody's in a frozen state, his legs clearly aren't designed to make him stand up, so he easily falls unless placed in a stand (like in Toy Story 2), but when he is "alive" he is able to stand up just right?

the runs are always great, but the doug specfic stuff was the stuff of him climbing up onto the toilet paper, nearly falling in, etc. the way he carried his weight was so perfect.

Yeah, the bathroom escape is one of my favorite scenes in the movie, the others being the opening and The Great Escape. And not to get off-topic or anything, but something that's been bugging me lately is this: Why didn't Andy wonder how the toys that his mom donated end up back in his house mysteriously? Maybe I wasn't paying attention in that scene, but I'm just wondering.

Well, he didn't know she donated them, right?

Not to mention that the first Toy Story has one major flaw that makes anything that came after it look passable...

THE FACT THAT ANDY FOUND BUZZ AND WOODY IN THE BOX HE WAS CARRYING FROM THE VERY BEGINNING!

As in, didn't he notice how the toys "magically" appeared in a second even though he had the box there since the trip started?

OK, I am putting too much thought into it, but I always found that weird.

Or, you know... Sometimes I wonder where the heck Mrs. Davis thought Jessie and Bullseye came from. I mean, Andy thought she bought them for him while he was at camp. You'd think she'd see him playing with them and say, "Hey, where did you get those," and he'd be all like, "What are you talking about, you got them for me," and she'd say, "WTF!? Posessed toys!" And then they'd be thrown out. Just sayin'. That's how it would have gone down at my house.
