The Wednesday numbers are in and Frozen made $15 million.

By comparison, Tangled took in $11 million on its first day, so it's already off to a great start. They're projecting it will finish at $85 million by the end of the weekend.

Anyone spot an Amazon pre-order yet? I got an email from DMC today saying they have it up to pre-order already but I haven't come across it anywhere else. :) I believe Thor had a pre-order on day of release so I figured I'd ask.

Here are all the reviews so far and I think these critics who have the movie a rotten rating have sticks up their butts.

Um...they are entitled to their own opinion you know. Or is there something else to it?

Funny how Frozen just a few days ago was predicted not to reach the same box office levels of Tangled or Wreck-It-Ralph, while it now seems likely to earn as much if not more then those two movies.

'Frozen' Will Seal a Record Box Office Year for Red-Hot Disney
Tales of Nordic gods and Scandinavian princesses will carry Walt Disney Co. (DIS) well past $4 billion in global box-office receipts for the year, a record annual performance for the storied studio operator.

‘Frozen’ Is the Best Disney Film Since ‘The Lion King’
Who needs Pixar? Frozen confirms that the House of Mouse is capable of melting hearts again. (...) This is also, as it happens, the third consecutive year that Disney's big animated release is better than Pixar's. The knee-jerk reaction to such a thing would be to call Disney the new Pixar. But the more accurate coronation is that Disney is the new Disney.

It's happy news to see the media make remarks on the ongoing revival of The Walt Disney Animation Studios, and several articles even states that Disney again is the great storyteller - while Pixar have fallen behind. So great to see Disney animation getting the credit they deserve.

Frozen's $15mil opening day proved WDAS knew all along what they were doing when it came to marketing Frozen. I didn't like earlier in the year when they were pulling all the leaked images/Chris Buck trailer but the BO numbers speak for themselves. Also, why are critics comparing this film to the classics of the 90s & Walt's classics? Why don't they compare Frozen to "Modern" films like Brave, How to train your Dragon & Tangled?

^I think that's because critics see the "classical" aspects and want the whole movie to be like that. But the movie, seeing at least everything I've seen, is a modern film like those you mention, but with the classical aspects, not a classical film with contemporary aspects.
Anyway, It comes to my country in January, I'm dying.

I don't like it when critics are trying to compare WDAS CGI era to the Renaissance & Walt's Classics because unlike this era, those eras didn't have any competion to worry about. Walt didn't have to worry about Cinderella & 101 Dalmatians being outpreformed by rival animated films. And during the Renaissance era The Little Mermaid easily out preformed All Dogs Go To Heaven, as Aladdin did to Ferngully & The Lion King did to The Swan Princess & Thumbelina. Tangled had to go against Despicable Me & HttyD, not to mention sequeals to Shrek & Toy Story! WiR had to go against Brave & The Lorax, not to mention sequeals to Madagascar & Ice Age! 2013 has been ALL about The Despicable Me sequeal & the Prequel to MI! WDAS new CGI films are clearly holding their own against top level competion, but all the critics talk about is the past when there pretty much was none.

You know whenever I see a lot of critics review Disney the Disney they have in mind is the stereotyped Disney instead of the actual Disney.

Yeah, this is really getting suspicious in my opinion. And these negative reviews seem to really be in my opinion trite. It seems they are eager to rate a lot of these reviews as rotten as well. Its like Rotten tomatoes has a vendetta against this movie. I really am doubting these critics tastes because from what I have been hearing there is some memorable stuff going on in here.

There is no conspiracy. A lot of positive reviews are trite as well.

You know, you can shit on this movie more effectively once you actually go see it. You've been doing nothing but posting about how people hate it so much for some time now.

Yeah, but a lot of people who have gone to see the movie actually said it was better than what was said in the critics who negatively reviewed it.

There is always going to be some difference in opinions between critics and audiences, this is far from the most drastic case.

It's still doing pretty well with critics. The average rating of 7.6 is still higher than any Disney movie since Tarzan.

Excuse me, I am updating people's opinions of the film so that we may discuss them. Unlike you has just been complaining all the time.

I saw Frozen today with my mom and I like it.

Why do princesses keep ending up with peasent man lately. Ever since Fox's Anatasia it has made my blood boil. I guess Anna can't become queen if anything happens to her sister.
