Disney Duster wrote:I admit Ursula does looking like she could be wondering what she should ask there, but it is strange they would animate a half half a milisecond of it instead of making a point of showing her thinking. ... It also doesn't make sense that Ursula would start saying "I'm not asking much, just a token, really..." and then have to think of what it is in mid-sentence. She had to already have it in mind before she started talking.
I disagree. All it shows to me is that Ursula is very quick on her feet. To me, her entire conversation with Ariel is just a performance, and like most performers, she knows how to work impromptu. It's clear the character doesn't have to think very hard how to manipulate any given situation into her favor.
As far as covers of “Part of That World” by well-known artists (or Disney stars, since they aren’t the same), I’d rank the ones I know as:
1. Faith Hill
2. Chely Wright
3. Ashley Brown (
On the Record)
4. Olivia Newton-John
5. Jessica Simpson
6. May J
7. Skye Sweetnam
8. Miley Cyrus
There’s probably some others I’ve heard that I’m forgetting about though. I’m expecting the Carly Rae version to end up just above Miley’s, but I haven’t listened to it yet.

I do think she already knew she was going to take Ariel´s voice.
She planned the whole thing since she discovered Ariel fell in love with Eric.
Besides, had not Ursula taken her voice Ariel would have been able to kiss Eric no problem. In fact, since the first time they met. Ariel loving Eric and Eric too upon seeing and hearing her. Had Ariel been able to just say that she was the one the kiss would come instantly.
...remember that the first thing Jane did after deciding to stay in Africa was kiss Tarzan. All because of the excitement and happiness.
Even if the kiss didn´t happen at the moment in a brief time it would had happened quickly because Ariel could had talk
Ursula wasn´t going to just let Ariel go like that. She had to have advantage.

Ariel's voice was Ursala's contingency plan so yes I think she did plan on that. It's just the way she talks that makes it sound like she forgot.

Just saw a commercial for the Blu Ray release on ABC Family during Pretty Little Liars. It's the first commercial I have seen thus far.

I'm not technical about restorations in any way, but that video of POYW Reprise looked just beautiful.

It's not a preview, it's the entire thing. I love it because I love Ursula en Pat is on touch with the voice, it's amazing. Classic Ursula.
I do understand why they didn't put it in the movie.

You know, once the Blu-ray does come out in the US, we can all call Disney and tell them of the "Part of that World" shots error. Remember, Pinocchio had a line missing and that got replaced!
Well Disney's Divinity we agree to disagree.

I can. It wasn't needed, felt a bit redundant.

It's really too bad they didn't include anything from the 1992 album
Songs From the Sea other than
The Scuttle Strut, which is attributed to a later compilation album here. Then again it looks like they gave the album a digital release yesterday . . . wow, I'd thought for sure that Disney had long forgotten about it.

I'm guessing this is what we're getting with the 3D release; that's pretty disappointing since not even the score is involved (and not even all of it was on the previous releases). I guess it's a good thing since I really don't even need the music download.

If you want the score, I have it.

the complete score, with all the songs edited (including Part of Your World, which has the introduction heard in the movie, not the soundtrack, with Jodi Benson), and their instrumentals as well.

Wow, really ?!

Extremely jealous !! Where did you get it from ?
It's a shame that's the release they're doing; not even the actual soundtrack is being reissued ? Disappointing. Especially as if they were going to do a crappy effort like this, they could have at least included some of the songs from the series. 'In Harmony', 'Sing A Happier Song' and 'You Got To Be You' come to mind.

I got it from a friend as a Christmas present last year. He didn't say where he got it. If you want it, I can email it to you.

That album is utter shit! They should release a complete score instead... Menken and Ashman did an amazing job on this film!

What exactly is wrong with the "POYW" sequence?
