Oh, that was blown completely out of proportion. I assumed she was going to make an anti-princess remark, but she's just clarifying that she isn't a princess, which is the truth.

Here's the full audio of "Belle!" Watch it before it's deleted.

I don't agree, I think Emma does not sound "emotionless" in her vocals. She doesn't have to be Paige O'Hara or Susan Egan, in fact having Emma Watson sounding different than them is a big relief to me.

Nah, it won't win Best Picture or even be nominated. The most I see it getting is a Best Production Design nomination and maybe Best Original Song with Evermore. The makeup and hairstyles were on point though, so maybe that too? Golden Globe nominations are possible though.

Belle getting hit with that snowball is genuinely funny! The way she falls! Omg!

Marce82, you're right, why didn't the Beast take them both as prisoners? Because he wanted Belle alone to make sure he could manipulate her into loving him? Just at first, before he actually started to love her? You're also right that the Beast tells Belle she can take her father's place in this version and not that she thinks of it! An actual improvement over the original 1991 film!

I like Emma Watson's voice, it sounds lovely, unless all of that is autotune...but yea, most of "Belle" was rather lifeless. Maybe because they don't want to seem too cartoonish like the original (even though the original was not too cartoonish)? The Silly Girls (or Bimbettes) sounded great though! And so did Gaston's singing, I thought!

I was thinking they would try for Best Picture when they almost got it before. I know I would have tried! But alas, this doesn't seem like it would be able to get it.

WOW, it sounds so beautiful. The orchestrations for Belle and Belle (reprise) are gorgeous. And Emma's voice is awesome. :)

I don't mean Emma. She's lovely. Just the ensemble is dull in the middle.

Not a fan of what I've seen. The execution was too silly, awkward and cartoony. Though the wacky comedy in the animated feature is just as awkward (which is one of it's weakest part of the film, to be honest), at least this was even worse.

Oh, okay. I think the ensemble does okay here, but a little more energy would be nice.

Just listening to the soundtrack ... and my gosh, I'm so torn. I know it shouldn't be a blow by blow reproduction on the original, or even the Broadway show ... but some of the songs just sound so different. As in, a poor reproduction of the originals. Different for the sake of being different perhaps ? Like my beloved Something There sounds like such a damp squib compared to both the original and Broadway's. I'm not commenting on voices or anything, just the re-orchestrated score of the songs themselves.

Maybe I'm just too used to the other two versions. I'm going over each song to properly absorb it all for sure.

DisneyMusicVEVO has officially released the soundtrack and I can safely say that I really love what I'm hearing. Emma, Dan, Luke, Josh, and the rest of them are impeccably cast for their singing. Now I can't wait to see these songs play on screen come next weekend. :D

The movie version of Evermore is amazing. Some of Menken's best since the 90s. I hear echos of Hunchback and a bit of Phantom of the Opera. No doubt a chilling moment if the film.

Emma's Voice is the only weak link. You can tell her casting was a studio decision, while the rest of the cast was formed through an actual casting director/agency. You're constantly hoping/wanting for her to belt. But she can't. It's serviceable I suppose.

Disney Duster wrote:Well, we now see the case that Belle's dress doesn't look very much like the one in the film at all. I would say Cinderella's looked ever so slightly more like it's original than Belle's does. I am glad they look different, as I think the designs for a new take on a film should be new, but the designs we got for Beauty and the Beast, well, at least for Belle's yellow dress, I am not ok with, unlike Cinderella where I was ok with every costume. And I'm sure you didn't really mean the blue dress was "a rag" lol.
Well, again, as I said to you before (and have said on this forum repeatedly for years on any given topic), that is your opinion and not mine, speak for yourself only, your opinion is not fact, etc. And I’ll throw in: F*** Cinderella. I really do not give two shits about it, I won't be thinking about that trash when I watch this, and any amount of ways you find to nitpick this film for eternity won't stop it from being more successful than Cinderella. :)
You were very cruel to me and my favorite live-action film, but now I have more proof I have overcome it.

On Rotten Tomatoes, Disney's live-action Beauty and the Beast has a 70%, while Disney's live-action Cinderella beats it by far with 83%. I won against your cruelty. Disney's live-action Beauty and the Beast score may change, but it is still highly doubtful it will be able to beat Disney's live-action Cinderella. I win.

Also, I found out that over Disney's animated Beauty and the Beast at 93%, The Little Mermaid at 92%, Aladdin at 94%, and The Lion King at 92%, Disney's animated Cinderella beats them all with 97%. I win twice.

Will Disney's live-action Beauty and the Beast be more successful monetarily than Disney's live-action Cinderella? Probably. But we know shallow money is not what matters. Cinderella was more successful in critical acclaim. I win.

I love the soundtrack clips they posted on DisneyMusicVEVO. Emma's singing is beautiful. :D

Can't wait for next weekend, to see it with my sister. I hope I'll love it as much as Cinderella and The Jungle Book.

I love the soundtrack! Especially Evermore by Dan Stevens, I think I like it even more than Groban's version. Now I'm even more hyped for the movie, can't wait to hear the beautiful music in the cinema! :D

What I like about Dan Stevens' version of "Evermore" better than Groban's is that Stevens uses pure, raw emotion that builds during the song and it sounds like he becomes more human as the song progresses. I'll bet this will be a big highlight during the actual movie.

Definitely! I enjoyed the final reprise of the title song. It was so beautiful. Audra sounds so great, and I can't even begin to describe how happy I am they included the choir singing the last verses.
