She looks sort of like Ariel from Ariel's Beginning. But Ariel from The Little Mermaid, she is not.

To be totally honest, Flynn reminds me of nothing more than Tulio from The Road to El Dorado–Dimitri's entire design is quite blocky and the character, as a whole, is a little too mature to be goofy like Flynn can be (from what we've seen, of course).

Tulio was my favorite character in Road to El Dorado, maybe that explains why i like Flynn so much..

Hmm.. I was ready to buy midnight tickets for this on the release day.. but the earliest my theatre had was 12:05 PM. Guess they think this movie is meant for "the kids". Is it having a midnight release in any theater?

My local theatre hasn't done midnight movies for anything other than Harry Potter and Avatar in a year. I'm not even bothering to check for Tangled. I will see it Wednesday night.

Fairytales, as soon as I saw Flynn, I immediately concluded he was Tulio's son. ;) There's even a similar dynamic between Flynn and Rapunzel as between Tulio and Miguel–dark-haired worldly thief focused on accumulating gold and his cheerful, optimistic, and more naive blonde, green-eyed companion.

Midnight releases are usually for speculative fiction flicks with a built-in and older fanbase, so I seriously doubt there are any floating around for Tangled.

A video on the French dubbing. From 3:32 to 3:51, there's new footage of the I See the Light scene.

Another positive review. They reinforced the fact that the dialogue is a little modern, but the film doesn't have pop culture references like Shrek. One of the guys even said the film is about 70% BatB in the way that it feels.

Concept art of Mother Gothel's different designs by Jin Kim: http://cosmoanimato.blogspot.com/2010/1 ... othel.html

From Clay Kaytis' twitter regarding the film's end credit: "Shiyoon Kim drew the Tangled credits. It was a big secret until the crew screening. Great surprise."
You can see some of his artwork at his blog http://shiyoon.blogspot.com/

I found this on the IMDB boards:

Apparently, Disney is not making anymore fairy tales! I don't believe this, but John Lasseter said so... :,(

Oh god. Tried to replace the French I see the Light with the English I see the Light while watching from 3:32. FINALLY they give us footage of that song with them singing-I don't CARE if it's a dub.

I am glad for now that they aren't attempting to do any more fairy tales

they need to move forward and not just rely on the past, I'm sure eventually they will do a fairy tale musical

having a fresh, new direction for the time being might be really good for the company

plus, in the past disney has taken long breaks in between fairy tales, it's almost much more of an odd occurance that the PatF came out last year and another fairy tale is coming out so soon
