Yeah, well said pap64. I guess it is more distracting than anything. The other one was more understated.

Okay - I've calmed down and it's growing on me. I think the font is too childish, but I like the way the crown is in the O.

The new font has a "unprofessional" look to it. It don't look bad but it needs polishing.

Are we sure that's the offical logo...it could be just to accentuate (sp) the frog title for children who click on the web site

Regardless of the fact that I absolutely adored the original logo, this one's hideous and I hope it's not the official look that'll be all over the place. It looks like "Frog" is in Toy Story font now.

I was thinking the same thing. It looks too unprofessional to be the official logo.

I just looked at it again, and it's not as bad as I remember it. Certainly not "Toy Story" font. And the Princess part looks okay, but needs to contrast a bit more by giving it some more sophistication, or sparkle, something that separates it a bit further from the "frog".

No, the frog part is gross. What, make the "princess" part look even nicer, so the "frog" part looks worse, or make them both bad with the "princess" part too skinny, too shiny? I understand the intent, to make the "frog" part look more green and bloated than the elegant and slender "princess" part, but it just looks bad. It looks funny, and I know this a comedy, but it looks ridiculously stupid, funny in a bad way. Maybe it's just too fat. But since there was nothing wrong with the first logo, it's a wtf. It really does look unprofessional, like someone just picked some computer font on their PC, bolded it, and made it a huge size. I mean I think it looks like a font I think I've seen on my PC.
Now, I know some of you will say that they might change it. Yea, I hope they do change it.

Maybe Disney changed the logo to something they knew fans would complain about, so when they change it, fans will rejoyce and think higher of Disney?

LOL. That should just be their strategy for everything.
Disney: WE WILL NEVER RELEASE "SONG OF THE SOUTH" AT ALL EVER!
Fans: WTFFFFFFFFF?!?!?!
Disney: Well, maybe someday. But there are no plans to.
Fans: Huzzah!

That's what it is now pretty much.

D23 did another Blog entry on TPATF:

The Princess and the Frog is our first 2D, or hand-drawn, movie in about four years. For this film, we brought back a small unit of the cream of the crop of animation artists. From the heart, I'm telling you, this is the best movie I've ever worked on. The look, the storyline and the quality are beyond classic

That guy seems rather nice. And he sees the film as the best he's ever done.

it also says he worked on The Lion King, Hunchback, Tarzan and Atlantis and he says that he feels this is the best movie he's worked on!? Now I'm getting excited. Wow.

please don't set a bar that high for it...walk into it with minimal expectations or you're bound to be dissapointed.

Well, I can't say it will be my personal favorite, but it's sure to be good.

oh no i'm not. I just think that if these people are feeling good about it then it is bound to be better than what i previously had been expecting it to be, which was pretty looking, but lousy story-wise. it just boosted my house.

I must admit that after reading the blog post, I'm starting to become more interested in the project and wonder how it will turn out. I'm not a huge fan of John Lasseter (and most of the Pixar films I enjoy were ones that he wasn't heavily involved in), so I'm still a bit afraid of how I'll personally enjoy it storywise, but I still keep hoping that it will turn out to be great.

yeah, we should keep in mind that artists usually say their most recent or current work is their best or fav. usually its because its the most fresh in their mind. Im glad they feel proud, but lets wait til we can judge ourselves.
