A perfect example is the show Desperate Housewives. I (a guy) am a big fan of the show (enough to buy the season sets on DVD) and my dad watches it too. Entertainment is entertainment...and it's made for everybody...men and women alike.
AGREED!!

I strongly agree with that, its entertainment and made for everybody which is what I would want people everywhere to think. But thats not how it is and people do think thats a girl's movie aside from being a movie for both genders heres an example: If a guy were to be with his buddies at a bar and suddenly say "Oh I gotta go buy The Little Mermaid tomorrow!" do you think that his buddies are gunna be like "AWESOME" or are they gunna be like "what the hell is wrong with you?" Generally people everywhere view The Little Mermaid for girls which is why all the products are based for girls (dolls, accessories, clothes) your not going to see Little Mermaid action figures in the Boys toys aisle, because it doesnt appeal to boys, which is why people think of The Little Mermaid as "girly". To us it doesnt even faze us because were Disney fans. I mean I like the little mermaid and my girlfriend loves the little mermaid so for us its entertainment for both genders.

So, that answers the question of what the Gift Set is.
I personally will just be getting the regular version at Best Buy along with the Flounder plush (if I actually go there on Tuesday.) I might swing over to Circuit City and get Cinderella too.
Off topic:
I found it kind of amusing that there's a DVD named Scarface: Platinum Edition.

It was my DAD, who is so ridiculously anti-Disney it's not funny, who said he wanted to get it.
Probably because I freak out during 'Poor Unfortunate Souls'.

About time! Honestly...
I think this is a good sign
nachonaco. Just make sure your father retains this attitude. Hopefully, being the leader of the family, he will also set an example to your mother and convince her.
There is only one thing I should say here: Good luck
nachonaco and
HAVE FUN watching your DVD in peace!

Looks Like I'll try to get it at Best Buy for me. I may even get a copy at Target for my 5 year old niece if it does come with the lipgloss bracelet. She'd love that.
As for my 7 year old niece........not sure yet. She'd probably love a Flounder plush, but she has so many stuffed animals...........maybe I'd give her mine if I got mine at Best Buy.
I don't trust Circuit City to have the golden book (at least at my Circuit City) because I never got my 'Go Fetch!' Cards when I purchased Lady and the Tramp. They did NOT have the cards in yet. So, how can I be sure that they have the book?

Looks like Best Buy has the best deal. $14.99 is a great price and I can put the plush toy on my Disney DVD shelf. Looks like I'll be heading there after school next Tuesday.

winniedu77 wrote:Hi! I'm writing from France and the review of The french edition has been done. It says that it is a disappointement, disappointing because of the others disney movies editions which are better.
The movie is supposed to be restored but the 1.66 format respected from the previous DVD is not respected for this new one (1.78 now). The colors seem to be worse. Finally, there is no mention about the restoration in the bonus material as they did in the previous editions of the others movies.
I hope that it will help you all.
I think the problem lies in their DVD player lol Lighthousemike's screen caps look so clean, pristine and picturesque, wherease theirs look blurry and the colors are off. I can read some french and in the part where they compared the two screen caps of the ship at night, the caption under the PE read: "here the moon is blue!", but go look at lighthousemike's screen cap of the same picture and you'll see the moon is not at all blue. Hmm.
Anyway, it seems like Disney hasn't altered a thing (except for the priest's knee, perhaps), which kind of disappoints me since I like alterations.

But I'm glad for the rest of you who resent it so much

How did I jump to the conclusion that the film has not been retouched? By noticing that certain colors which have been kind-of washed out in past versions - remain so. Maybe on the DVD itself it's gonna look good, but that is what I deduced from those screen caps.

That's a pretty funny story!!

I just wanted to let everyone know that the Little Mermaid mobile site finally updated their ringtones to include "Part of Your World," "Under the Sea" and even "Les Poissons." They sound great too!

They should update the Countdown Ticker! It'd be pointless to put it up though since it's only a few days before TLM comes out, and we won't have much to countdown to.

Yes, they should! I've been checking the site regularly to see if it's been added so I can make it my siggy...but it's pointless now!
