DC Fan wrote: But, why do they have to that at all?

I watch other annual series (from Aug/Sep till Apr/May) and they either don´t do it and, if so, it´s just for a week at max.

All the shows that I watch do the same as Once Upon a Time, for example: Pretty Little Liars, Melissa and Joey, Baby Daddy and many more.

Lots of Disney shows do that.

Just seen the Emma 4B promo ... Do you think it's an actual plot ?! :o

Or is it just a red herring .... I can't decide.

Wow, it's been a while since I've posted on here.

I missed the last episode of the Frozen arc. Is it going to air again on television? Or is there anywhere else I can view it? I don't have a Hulu Plus account nor do I want to create one.

I loved the premiere. :D I wish the Ursula actress was more sassy and less sadsack, and I despise the green costume (so stupid and ugly), but I liked that most of the episode revolved around the villains' interactions. Ursula and Rumpel in the apartment in the beginning.... rotfl The core characters did get the shaft somewhat here, but it looks like they will all have their storylines this half-season so I'm not too worried.

I'm surprised Snow and Charming have relationships with both of them. I thought Ursula was supposedly missing for a thousand years? I guess it's possible she came back into play some time after the "Ariel" episode.

I was happy to see the inclusion of Chernabog in last night's episode, though it looks like it might be the only episode Chernabog appears in. I, too, wanted a sassier Ursula. Sure, none of Once's characters are exact duplicates of their animated counterparts, but the Ursula we're getting here is an odd departure from the animated character. And, I liked the fact that Zelena was mentioned by Snow as, apparently, she's to return later this season. All in all, though, I thought it was a good episode and I'm interested in seeing how Maleficent and August will return.

nice seeing Emma and Regina being friendly with each other for a change.

August is probably tied to the author storyline but I really hope he gets more than a one ep flashback and gets to return somehow...

^That reminds me--another cast spoiler:

Barbara Hershey will return as Cora. I'm starting to wonder if Pan will show up, too.

Glad you guys enjoyed it ! I've watched some clips which looked fantastic; Cruella looks faaaaaabulous !! Hard to follow up Glen Close, but think she's doing a marvellous job. And I seriously LOVE Captain Swan; I hope its not a tragic end. It would be wonderful for someone to actually get a happy ending.

I thought it was a bit funny considering the Queens of Darkness arc, but the premiere's ratings were 6.66.

Also, not sure if I posted these, but more promotional images: Ursula, Cruella, and Maleficent. I'm using the Ursula one for my background at the moment, since March is green and all. :P

Well, the show's had more viewers in the past (the series premiere had about twice as many viewers), but a 6.66 is pretty steady for this season so far. What's of importance to ABC is the 2.2 in the 18-49 age group (which is, apparently, the most important group for the networks). Once's 2.2 was the second highest on Sunday night, which is a good thing (The Last Man on Earth had a 2.4 but only 5.75 million viewers). According to this, viewers over 49 are big fans of Madam Secretary, but Once still won the hour in the 18-49 group.

Yes, I think the ratings are good, especially the key demo being 1/3rd of the total viewers for this show. Last spring's "premiere" for 3B had 7.66 million viewers with 2.4 in the key demo, and the Wicked Witch of the West/Oz storyline received much more promotion than 4B has (I saw ads on E!, Lifetime, all over the place). The best part is that the drop from 7 to 6 looks to be a gradual erosion that most shows experience over time, but the key demo saw almost no loss.

In other words, I think season 5 is guaranteed. I won't really start worrying about the ratings until next year. And, even then, if it can maintain with 5 million and 2 in the key demo this time next spring, that's great for a show 4 years in.

Ah brilliant news ! So glad its doing well.

Watching a few clips, and I do have to ask something to the costume department - what on earth are the dressing Snow in ?! She was always sort of throwback 50's in her style, which I loved, but now she's dressing just plain hideously ?! I know Ginny is loosing her baby weight the slow and healthy way, but they could dress her a little better surely to accommodate that ? Looks like they are plonking her in the most awful clothing possible. I hope I'm not being overly rude and picky, but I think it every time I see her. Such a shame as she has such a lovely face, but she's masked and swamped in all that hideousness below the neck !

I was a little mixed on the past episode, but I did love seeing Geppetto again. Especially the smackdown he gave Regina. <3 I also loved the scenes where Emma and Hook are discussing the secret he's not sharing, Snow and Charming in their apartment, and Snow and Regina talking at the end; very intimate moments.

I actually liked Snow/Charming's secret: Maleficent had a child. Even though I'm sure there are some who will be grumbling about that. Ursula is really disappointing right now. They better give a satisfying explanation for why she isn't a grade above these other two and why she's resorted to slumming it because that's not in her character at all.

Chernabog was in this show! Wow!

I love how Maleficent said, "I knew it" when Chernabog went after her heart. LOL! I knew it too, lol.

I loved how Snow and Charming reacted to Emma and Hook seeing them as they were about to kiss. LOL!

So, this second half seems GREAT to me. I love all the storylines now. I like how all the queens of darkness are acting. They aren't really acting very much like their Disney animated counterparts, so I don't mind things like Ursula not being like her original self. But yes, her costume is rather hideous and question-spawning. But the secret with Maleficent...woah...and I mean that as a good woah...

I'm not just comparing Ursula to the Disney film's character, although that would be fair considering there is no villain in TLM tale to base the character on, I'm comparing her to her appearance in "Ariel" on this show. She was supposedly a goddess who put the fear of god into Regina, now she's some D list sidekick for Rumpel. Right now, the only "queen" that's shining is Cruella, who I was actually least excited about coming into the 2nd half. It doesn't help that Ursula's and Maleficent's actresses are weak either, imo, but I already knew that was going to be the case for Maleficent. I actually preferred the look she had in the first season.

I'll still enjoy the 2nd half, but I'd only be lying if I said a few things aren't disappointing right now.

I think Kristin Bauer is doing a great job as Maleficent but Ive been a fan of the actress since True Blood so maybe Im biased.
Loved all the Gepetto/Pinocchio stuff, so sad/sweet that Gepetto still keeps August stuff around. :( Im looking forward to next week! I hope August's scenes arent too short.

I'll say my opinion is a little improved on Maleficent's actress. I believe I was extending most of my hatred for the costume to the actress, tbh. I loved that she was out of it most of this episode. Ursula and Maleficent thankfully look great in Storybrooke.

I don't read fanfiction much these days, but I could totally seeing this half season spawning a load of Maleficent/Regina fics. 8) They had a lot of chemistry in their solo scenes. (I almost wonder if this episode was supposed to rile up the fanbase of Swan Queen shippers. rotfl ) The episode was very heavy on Emma and Regina scenes, plus Rumbelle. I guess Robin Hood, August, and...someone else is back next episode. I have some theories I'll keep to myself. :P

Season 4 is up to episode 14, so I guess it will be added to as the US series goes on ?

I cannot even begin to tell you how excited I am.... Can't decide to either binge watch or draw it out ??

yeah but she looked like an 80's hair band groupie.

I was so happy to see August at the end. Just hope he doesnt spend all his appearances tied to a chair. Hope he sticks around. BTW if I were Will Id get the hell outa dodge right now.
