Coolmanio wrote:Quick question, on the Website, it says that it is going to be available for a VERY limited amount of time. How long do you think it will be available? Will it be out at the end of November and then shoved back into the vault at the end of Jan 2011?
The releases are usually around for about 14 months. And again, typically, the films are 'available' for the same period of time.

I think he was referring to the traditional releases where the trailers ultimately say "Available for a limited time only".

I am aware of the usual time period for these releases, but the fact that it says for a VERY limited time and it is all in CAPS, strikes me as odd. No other release has said for a VERY limited time. For example, BatB Platinum was out in October 2002, and went back January 2003.
I am just thinking it may be something like that.

Who knows, Aladdin came out to DVD in 2004 and didn't get into the vault unil 2008 and TLM 2 Re-release was released in December and got vaulted with the other 2 Little Mermaid Movies in January at one time....
It varies....Disney usually will make an announcement what goes back in the Vault in January sometime in October or november or December....I imagine Pinocchio might go back in the vault...but who knows.....

BBFC has passed the audio commentaries for Fantasia (Brian Sibley & Walt Disney dramatization):

If you guys notice, under type it says Video and Online, like it says for the Disney Vault supplement in the Fantasia release.
I'm thinking that the online component, rather than being related to BD Live, might instead be related to Disney Keychest.

Thanks for that.
Has anyone found any clips (other than the IMDB) of the Blu-Ray release floating on the 'net?
Craptastic!

Well, except for Beauty and the Beast i have all Disney-classics on dvd. I must say that Disney have hit the rock-bottom with this edition of Fantasia/Fantasia2000.
I have the "Legacy"-edition and the specialfeatures are just fabulous. Even if you consider the upgrade of the new transfer/restoration, it still doesn't make up for the loss of specialfeatures.
Fantasia was THE benchmark for how animated films could be done (that was the first time a studio ever tried to record surround-sound and using a "click-track")
With this new edition Disney have not only showed that they don't give a s**t about customers or the legacy and possibilities for a release like this.
What makes me mad isn't so much the missing specialfeatures, as to the fact that Disney misses a great opportunity to release an amazing edition, even if it's only to Blu-ray (yes, i'm not a big fan of Blu-ray) instead they just release an edition that's just - CRAPTASTIC!

Ps. there should be a protest-form one could fill in and send to Disney about this and other releases. Why do they never listen to us customers? Ds.

I'm kinda disappointed that these films are not getting their individual releases. I don't have anything against F2K but it wouldn't had been part of my collection if it had been released individually. I also don't understand why they removed Chernabog from the cover. Does anyone know if the overseas individual Fantasia Blu-ray that has Chernie on the cover is region locked? Also don't PS3's play any region disc? Thanks for help in advance!

That's the exact reason they are releasing them together, IMHO

Do the claims of "devil-worship" ring a bell? It's just another instance of Disney hiding the truth to avoid conflict.

Not if they're region-locked. It'll play only Region-free discs(which all PS3 games are).
