I would have been highly unrealistic for Andy to still have most of his toys. cutting out some was essential. Be lucky more were not cut. RC had his time to shine, as you mentioned, in the first film.
besides that he Was technically in the movie in a few shots in the home video. also, he's not really the adventure type. he cant really jump or climb or anything the rest of the gang can do, so he would have at best gone in the attic alone, which is just as sad as being sold/given away. actually its more so. he could be happy with another owner already.
And why would anyone assume that they would be successful in saving all (or even most of) the toys that they attempt to sell? They might have gotten away with keeping wheezy, but Andy and/or his family are bound to notice when nearly all the toys they put out there magically re appear.

I agree, I hope they do a 3 pack. I am not too sure that we'll see one upfront though, they'll probably want us all to run out and buy Toy Story 3, and then surprise us with a 3 pack later on.

Watching it a second time, my favorite line of all, and it made me cry was:
Right after the aliens save everyone else.
Mrs. Potato: You saved our lives...
Mr. Potato: and we are eternally grateful. My boys!
Aliens: Daaaaaddy!
I think the reason why they gave it to the Aliens was so they would have a point in the toys' journey. No one was extra baggage.

If it's anything like the Pirates 3-pack, it's nothing special. But if it's packaged with something like the Lion King trilogy, THAT would be awesome!

Did the Pirates 3-pack come out long after they released the 3rd movie on home video?

I don't get the distain over RC not being in the movie... he wasn't in Toy Story 2 either (except in a couple background shots). Wheezy wasn't one of Andy's favourite toys so keeping him wouldn't have made much sense. Bo Peep couldn't have gone on that adventure. She would have broken so fast... plus why would they donate a lamp (which is technically not a toy) to a Daycare centre?
I know we love all the characters, but story-wise having them all there wouldn't work.
That being said, I don't really see Andy keeping the Aliens either (or maybe even Mrs Potato Head or Jessie), but Mrs Potato Head sees the Aliens as children so I can see her going to great lengths to save them. And Potato Head wouldn't let anything happen to the Mrs and Buzz and Woody would have saved Jessie.

Well, my sister and I are going to go and see it this week, so hopefully I'll have my review sometime later this week. I can't wait, I hear it's really good!

I just found out the movie wont be in IMAX after the 29th, meaning I wont be able to see it. Really sucks. I was planning on seeing it July 4th weekend.
Thanks alot Twilight. you ruin everything.

I saw it today and LOVED it! It was so awesome! Barbie and Ken were a real high point for me! It was very sad with all the toys that were gone, but it was all so good! I hope it is still at the Drafthouse in Austin for a couple more weeks so I can see it again with my sister after I move in with her.

I wonder what color scheme they're going to have for Toy Story 3. If Toy Story's blue and Toy Story 2 is red, I guess three will be... purple? lol.

I would think black, but that's just me.

Or maybe even green since red, blue, and green make up white light. But that's just me being a science nerd.

Then you, my friend, are a fan of the wrong movie studio.
I hate to say this, but you would be right. Disney is done with DVD and will keep working (and forcing I might add) with Blu Ray until the next big thing in Home Entertainment comes out.
I just want to know if they will do a better job with TS3 then they did with the first two on Blu Ray. I mean, one disc each, really? And the 2nd disc DVD doesn't count!

Absolutely loved it.
Not sure if it's been mentioned, but I also loved & noticed that the films come full circle - the opening shot of Toy Story begins on Andy's cloud wallpaper; the final shot of Toy Story 3 (not including credits) finishes on similar shaped clouds in the sky.

I have a question. Maybe it's a dumb question, but if it is, please spare my feelings.
Okay, here comes: can you watch
Toy Story 3 in 3D without watching it in 3D? I mean: if you take off the 3D-glasses, can you still watch it like a 'normal' film? Or is the film designed to only be watchable with the glasses on? (Does it even work with glasses anymore?)
I don't want to discuss why I prefer to watch the film in 2D. I just want to know.
