I have to agree. I didn't really think that one could pull off re-recording that song as a rocknumber? But hey, I'm glad to have been wrongxxhplinkxx wrote:Hmm... I must admit, the Jonas brothers song is pretty good!
I don't think they ship from USA, but from somewhere in Europe.271286 wrote:Axelmusic shipped my TLM dvd from USA yesterday... So I should have it by the end of this week!! YAAY!! Can't wait... Love that I'll have it before the official release date... YAY again

Same here, as I live in a Region 2 country. However, the stores here in Malta get Region 1 DVDs aswell, so until the Region 2 of Mermaid is available, they will have the Region 1 US Platinum Edition, which I'm going to get. I don't have enough patience to wait for the European Edition. Don't the stores in the Netherlands get Region 1 DVDs? If they don't, I suppose you could always order it online aswell.KubrickFan wrote:It's not fair. Over here (In The Netherlands) we have to wait for two more weeks for The Little Mermaid to come out.
Everybody has to wait 2 more weeks, dear! TLM doesn't come out in the USA until Oct 3, and aronud the same date in toher European countries (excet the UK that will have to wait until November).KubrickFan wrote:It's not fair. Also, why is this film in 1.78:1 on the dvd, while the original negative ratio was 1.66:1? It's not like our tv's can't handle it, as was the case with movie theatres.
Well, there are very few stores that sell region 1 dvd's, and if they do, they're very highly priced. And I still have to make my dvd-player regionfree, so that's not going to help either.Julian Carter wrote:Same here, as I live in a Region 2 country. I meant two weeks after Oct 3. Ours is due on Oct 18, so we have to wait two MORE weeks.Jordan wrote:Everybody has to wait 2 more weeks, dear! TLM doesn't come out in the USA until Oct 3, and aronud the same date in toher European countries (excet the UK that will have to wait until November).
Preference from the creators to have it in the intended theatrical aspect ratio. Same reason that Beauty and the Beast, Hunchback of Notre Dame, and the Gold Collection version of Mulan were released in their theatrical 1.85:1 aspect ratio as opposed to the fully 1.66:1 animated aspect ratio.KubrickFan wrote:Also, why is this film in 1.78:1 on the dvd, while the original negative ratio was 1.66:1?
That's the first time I've seen the actual DVD sales. But I agree with you. TLM has the "princess" audience of little girls to appeal to like Cinderella did, but doesn't quite have the general audience like TLK did. I'm surprised BatB didn't do better though.rodis wrote:Guys the wait is untolerable. I ordered my copy from Amazon in a priority delivery option only so it can arrive here on Oct. 5-10. My dvd player is region free so I hope all goes well. I keep staring at the screen caps lighthousemike posted and I'm mesmerized. But how long can I look at it? I want the real thing!!![]()
Anyway, anyone here wants to guess how will TLM measure compared to other platinums in terms of sales? A reminder:
Snow White - 7 million DVD & VHS
Beauty and the Beast - 6 million DVD & VHS
The Lion King - 13 million DVD & VHS
Aladdin - I'm not sure, but wasn't it 3-4 million?
Bambi - 5 million
Cinderella - 7 million DVD
I say somewhere between 7-8 million.
Cheers
Yes I did!! I love it.JamesDFarrow wrote:Did anyone else notice the new UD Logo in the top left corner?
