I just watched disc 1 of Charles in Charge Season 1. I forgot how good this show was! I'm glad they are releasing the 80's shows.

Xena Second Season

Now, this is where everything actually started. It feels much more like a first Season. As I read in some review.... is more of the the first Season but better and way more established.

...and now up to Third Season to the suffering of Gabrielle 8)

Bring on the pain! Season 3 is easily one of the show's peak moments of brilliance!

The Mighty Boosh - Series 2

Not QUITE as good as the first season, but a lot more random. The episode 'The Priest and the Beast' - including cameos from Razorlight and Roger Daltry, and a fight with the evil Betamax Bandit - is priceless.

"But away those fiery biscuits".

Second. Best. Line. Ever.

Yesterday I saw the final episodes of Xena, Warrior Princess: Season 5. Boy what a ride!! It started off with a bang, only to limp foward with some so-so episodes, and again near the middle picked up speed to become a fine season, full of great episodes! The arc story of motherhood and the twilight of the gods was a great 'explination' as to why there aren't gods around anymore. This is one of the more important seasons since so much happens all at once. The death of Eli, Xena's birth, Callisto's redemption, Gabrielle's new way, and the death of the greek gods. So far this is my second favourite season! Some of my favourite episodes include Fallen Angel, Chakram, Seeds of Faith, Punchlines, God Fearing Child, Lyre Lyre, and the final 4 episodes. Overall I'd give this season an 8/10. Can't wait for season 6!

And BTW, 2000th post!!! Boy have I spent too much time around here. :P

I've been watching the Enterprise season sets. I just finished with the first two seasons and am one disc through the third. Once I make it through "Zero Hour," I will have seen all 98 hours except for "Daedalus," which I heard was not that memorable.

Watching these shows in order, most of them for the first time, I am amazed at how much it seems like a continuing mission. Past events are often referenced, and the characters are consistent from one show to another.

One criticism that is often leveled against the show is that Hoshi and Travis were underused, but I don't find that to be the case. They both have had episodes centered around them, and they are frequently useful in the episodes. Maybe it's because they don't have the connection to the "Big Three" that Malcolm does or the charisma of Phlox that causes those fans to have that opinion.

I'm looking forward to the rest of Season 3, and I love those Xindi Council scenes for their behind-the-lines looks and foreshadowing.

Although I am not a particularly voracious TV viewer (especially when it comes to network TV), I do have a few favorite series that I collect DVD sets of:

- Taxi (Seasons 1-3)
- Spongebob Squarepants (Seasons 1 and 3...I'm getting 2 as soon as I free up $40...I swear)
- Da Ali G Show: Da Compleet First an' Second Seazons 8)
- Ducktales Vol. 1
- Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers Vol. 1

Quite a diverse collection, eh?

It's not exactly a 'season set' but I just watched Doctor Who - The Beginning. It contains the first three serials from the 1963/64 season of Doctor Who and is the closest thing we are ever going to get to a season set from that era. See link in signature for my review.

I also just watched Millennium - Season 3: Part 1, which - you guessed it - is the first HALF of Season 3. Fox have chosen to split the discs over two sets here for some unknown reason. Well, charging more seems to be the reason (AU $44.95 x 2 rather than a single price of $69.95).

Plenty more to watch and review! I've got Quantum Leaps S2 & 3; Sliders S3 and the rest of Millennium. Arrested Development S2 is on the way. And I just bought Simpsons: S7.

Call me a sucker, but I still say the first Season of the Simpsons is the best. I know the animation is primitive and the stories could very well work on the Cosby show, but I still say Season 1 is the best. (Then 4,3,2 and 5, 6, 7,8...). Ratings below:

Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire 8
Bart the Genius 8
Homer's Odyssey 9 (First Episode I ever watched.)
There's No Disgrace Like Home 2nd Favorite Episode
Bart the General 8
Moaning Lisa 9
The Call of the Simpsons 8
The Telltale Head Top 25 Episode
Life on the Fast Lane 10
Homer's Night Out 8
The Crepes of Wrath 10
Krusty Gets Busted 8
Some Enchanted Evening 8
