Strange that Daveed Diggs both is in this movie and got the very high profile voice role of Sebestian in The Litte Mermaid remake. He is far from the most in demand celebrity. But i supect Lin-Manuel Miranda used his good realtiomship with the studio the give his frined and former co-star big role in the two of Mouse's big upcoming movies.

Has anyone hear of Questlove before ? He seeems like really such an obscure musican to get a role in a big animated nmovoie from a such major studio as Pixar.

I hope Phylicia Rashad gets a decent amount of lines in the movie and that Joe's mother. has a substantial role.

Questlove is jimmy fallon's band leader/drummer. I didn't know about him before he joined up with jimmy, but he is hardly obscure.

Daveed Diggs has been doing a decent amount of voice work lately. He also voiced one of the hedgehogs in Ferdinand and had guest roles in Bob's Burgers, BoJack Horseman and Green Eggs & Ham.

You've never heard of The Roots? They've been around for a while and they're pretty popular. And as mentioned, they're Jimmy Fallon's house band.

Most likely. His first work at Disney (Zootopia) was the same time Miranda started working there for Moana. It's similar to Randy Newman getting a role on TP&TF at WDAS when Lasseter took over, despite his apparent disinterest in making a musical. The way of the world. Hopefully he's more talented than Newman, since he'll be in Disney's films for as long as Miranda is around. I wonder why Miranda is getting more leverage at Disney than, say, the Lopezes? Or even Menken in the past? Frozen's soundtrack and most of the Renaissance films blow Moana's out of the water aside from being much more popular / successful.

Maybe they just sign them for multi-picture contracts like they do their superhero and Star Wars stars?

Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman i think by FAR are the best songwriters working for Disney today no consent. :)

New still.

According to Soul director Pete Docter – the man behind Monsters, Inc., Up, and Inside Out – ‘The Great Before’ is a Pixar explanation of where we begin to become who we are, or “where we got our personality and attributes from”. Speaking to Empire, he explained: “The instant my kids were born, they seemed to have a very specific, unique personality; this is a deep dive into why that’s the case.” It’s a heady concept – but if Pixar has specialised in anything, it’s visualising complex worlds that feel inherently instinctual. “If I had to explain to you the story in words, you would scratch your head and wrinkle your nose,” says Docter. “But when you can show it visually, even the five-year-olds get it.”

This 100% explains now why Daveed was randomly at the Moana scoring session with Lasseter.

I have to admit the Chinese New Year posters you've posted for the various films aren't as good as last year's. This one's probably my favorite of them, I suppose; Raya's would probably be next. It took me a minute to realize those are supposed to be piano keys because the black keys are randomly placed instead of grouped in the way an actual piano would be.

I hope we get tones of great lines from 22 :)

I really want lots of great Tina Fey jokes and i think it's likely shewill a have quiye a number good one since Fey iscreited as writer so i epext somethin kind of simliar to Robin willmas in Aladdin wher e Tina Fey made up many of her own jokes ! :) :)

Also hope Joe's mother get a fair bit of screen time and unlike the last old lady in an original Pixar movie Abuelita isn't depicted as mostlu as a really cruel, mean and spiteful jerk who really is actually an ass  Sorry if profanity isn't allowed  i have no idea about the rules about such things here. Would like if Joe's mother was nice like Grandma Tala or Mr's Potts or strong minded and detrimed , but stil wants what's best for her son like Grandma Fa.

Ther fisr older african americab lady in a pixar movie should proavvlynot be orityrad as mean. both for the view befit( watching someone being nedless cruel to a close realtive ISN't entertaining wiith expectation of Peter Griffin but completely different typ of story and genre) and als becue i won't look ver good pubilty vise "Pixar's frist older black woman and she is a mean jerk.!" :( Not a very good headline

The same can be said for Disney especially when the few black characters they did have were deleted like Xavier from Rapunzel.

Oh wow, those designs are really generic and uninspired. Especially if every character looks like a big green blob.
