The abscence of "Grievance of a Starmaker" and "The Cat Who Looked at a King" makes sense because those weren't produced by WDAS.
Oh, true, I forgot lol. But I still want them in HD somewhere, especially since the latter was still in SD on the Mary Poppins Blu-Ray.

This set makes no freaking sense. What was Disney thinking? They are including 7 shorts that have been previously released in HD but can't be bothered including 2 shorts who haven't, one of which has never been released to the public before?

I was hoping this would have contained everything from "Runaway Brain" onward. It would have been a great way to introduce the set before going into some of the more experimental shorts... :|

So, going off of what Escapay and Sotiris said, since this set only seems to be covering shorts produced by Disney Feature Animation from 2000 onward, we're only missing...

- Destino
- One By One
- Glago's Guest

Right? Just those three?

Lame, dude. What could have ended up being a pleasant surprise ends up being a bust.

Leonard Maltin, we need you! I summon thee!

At least we have Lorenzo. Yeah just one short but that at least would be worth the price.

Well, there's Super Rhino as well. And I guess the other Prep & Landing shorts but those got a Blu-ray set of their own.

There's also a couple of ones which are iffy: A Dairy Tale was a co-production between WDAS and Renegade Animation and it was animated at Renegade as well. The Further Adventures of Thunderbolt was produced by the Special Projects unit of WDAS and animated at Phil Nibbelink Productions.

So apparently we're getting a behind the scenes-featurette? I'm impressed. And I guess it will be elaborate (yes, I was sarcastic).

Count me in with the confused ones. It feels so incomplete. I mean, as much as I would like to see Runaway Brain on there, it doesn't bother me much that it's missing if they are going with shorts from this millennium. They did a better job with the Pixar shorts collections.

Does that mean that Runaway Brain is going to be on the blu-ray as an extra? Or only on Disney Movies Anywhere?

Makes no sense to have an extra short in a collection of shorts. I believe it's DMA exclusive. Infuriating.

Better than nothing, I suppose. (That means we can access it if we redeem our digital copies from the BD release, right?) But still, another odd choice for sure.

I have a petition to get Disney to release The Black Cauldron fully uncut on Blu-Ray, with the 12 missing minutes of completed animation added back in. I already got many of the people who worked on it to sign.

Hey there fellow fans.....so....is there still no word on whether we can expect blu-ray releases of "Make Mine Music", "Melody Time", "Saludos Amoigos" or "The Three Cabelleros"? It would have been announced by now if there was a fall release date scheduled, right?

Too good to be true :(

It wouldn't be such a big deal if the current DVDs available for the remaining package films weren't so awful. :( The Three Caballeros and Make Mine Music look particularly horrible, and their inventive and beautiful visuals simple scream "Hi-Def Restoration!!".

To be fair, I suspect Disney have already restored and preserved these films. They are simply not interested in releasing them on home video. I do think they will eventually be released on digital HD, but that would only benefits Americans and not international customers. Saludos Amigos and Three Caballeros are already available for purchase in HD on the US iTunes store, but certainly not in European stores. I've looked it up and apparently it is next to impossible for a non-US resident to make purchases from the US iTunes store.

I rented Saludos Amigos in HD on iTunes, and unfortunately it is the censored version without Goofy's cigarette. I just hope it won't be censored when it comes out on Blu-Ray. Then again, all of you do.

Do any of you think there is hope that the remaining five DAC movies will have Blu-Rays?

It's a little concerning that the last non-Diamond releases that we got were last August, and there have been no announcements or even any hints regarding the remaining five films... Releasing them alongside the shorts collection coming in August would have been nice.

I'd like to think that they will follow through and complete the catalogue...

I know that a remastered version of The Three Caballeros aired on TCM a few months ago. Melody Time has also been remastered, and was on Time Warner Cable On Demand, with "Pecos Bill" being uncensored! Unfortunately, it's not on there anymore.
