Anyway, I'm looking forward to Frozen. The two things I'm hoping are that 1.) They don't re-visit Hans, at least not in a major storyline, and 2.) The film isn't focused on romance. I'm still liking the ideas of a magic villain and/or Anna with sun magic powers, although there are many other things they could do, too.
heh, Im the exact opposite. I dont think Anna should be given any powers and I think they should revisit Hans, I thought he was underdeveloped in the first film.

I really think she meant the short, not the sequel. Unless they're doing what Pixar did to Toy Story 4: Have the actors confirm it, the executives reject the rumors, and one day: "J/k, it's happening".

I just hope they know what they're doing and not just doing it only for a big buck

The article makes it pretty clear she didn't mean the short but a movie sequel.

That's exactly what's happening. Even though I don't think the actors had been instructed to confirm anything; it was just a slip-up on their part.

Well, I refuse to believe that the sequel is happening until Disney says so. Maybe next year at the Expo?

If they do make a sequel I hope to God it's not called Frozen 2.

Just call it The Snow Queen and craft a new story with as of yet unused elements from the fairytale.

Well, it's not surprising that Disney decided to make a sequel for "Frozen" after it's huge success. But I wouldn't mind if the sequel was an improved version to it's predecessor. And I don't see why it would be a problem that it was called "Frozen 2". At least "Frozen" was a more suitable title than "Tangled".

I wouldn't mind if Hans was revisited in this sequel and better developed.

Every time a website proclaims "Frozen 2" is totally confirmed, a snowman dies. Stop it. Vague comments from actresses do not mean anything!

Why are you quoting this person's tweet exactly? She doesn't work at Disney. She doesn't know what's going on there.

And to that I roll my eyes. We all know how this thing works: the actors reveal things too soon, the company scrambles, deny deny deny, 6 months to a year later we find out the actors weren't lying about anything because they have no reason to.

There will be a sequel, even if it's 6 years from now. I don't even need Idina Menzel to tell me that. Use this time to prepare yourselves for the slayage.

^ Heck, Santino Fontana was stating not too long ago that the staff of Frozen was consideringa redemption of Hans in a future Frozen related work. What would he gain from lying?

I think it's a case of them knowing that a sequel is in works, but Disney not wanting to seem too greedy and waiting a year or two before official announcement.

The exact same thing happened in 2011 when Tom Hanks announced Toy Story 4... and it took three years for Disney to confirm that...

Well, we have confirmation from the guy who's an insider for Disney:
Brendon Connelly ‏@brendonconnelly

Lots of Disney fans not believing in Frozen 2. Just like Toy Story 4, for years. Very early days but Frozen 2 is definitely in the works.

Yeah, there are a lot of so called confirmations by so called insiders.

What Frozen really needs is an animated series in the vein of the Legend Of Tarzan or Aladdin where elements that were cast out from production or the original book are refused. Not to mention they can use stuff from Norse mythology to put into the mix and we can expand more on the trolls as well.

Actually, Brendon Connelly is legit. He really does have inside info. He has proven himself with a lot of Disney-related stories in the past.

That sounds about right. I'm expecting it to be released in 2020. I doubt though that Chris Buck/Jennifer Lee will return to direct the sequel since they just started working on a different project.

Yeah, but some latch onto rumors to easily.

no surprise here really... all their post 1988 huge blockbuster animated films have gotten sequels(mostly straight to dvd)...this will be no exception.
I also think that the Tinkerbell films were cancelled so that Toon Disney Studios could start work on it...

I really don't think Toon Disney Studios will be involved in this.

I think they could be...they have all the animation models and rigs, backgrounds etc set up and ready to reuse, wouldnt be hard for them to send this stuff over to TDSI(just like they got the stuff for Pixars Planes) while WDFA continues to work on original material. It would be cheaper for them. Doesnt mean the original creators wont be involved(writers/producers/etc) just that the grunt work will be handled by TDS.
