I see your point, but Im gonna choose to ignore it and let it go from now on.
Yes, we are going to find similarities with these movies because the same studio makes them. It's the same style and we need to just get used to it!
But back on topic..
Did you guys notice that the white streak on Anna's hair is much more visible, if not bigger in these Character poses?
Also, I don't know if I mentioned this here or not, but Anna's hair is almost white in the still we got a month ago.
You could see that the right side of her hair is definitely a different color.

Rapunzel does not even look like she does in that poster and, as seen in the trailer, I think the same will happen with Elsa. I mean, we've seen the characters in action and we've seen their faces are quite different to Rapunzel's. I love Elsa in that picture anyway (I love Elsa in every picture)

So now that Anna clearly doesn't look like Rapunzel people are saying Elsa does?
This is why I don't like 3D animation as much. Every studio has a distinct look for their human models so they all tend look similar, but they're obviously not identical. A lot of the 2D Disney humans look the same too to be honest. Every studio has their own distinct look.
And yes, Rapunzel was nothing like she was in the Dreamworks-type arched eyebrow promotions.

Saw this on tumblr.
Either the magazine got permission to use
this fan art from DeviantArt, or someone didn't double check their images.
EDIT: Actually, I'm honestly not sure on this... Can a company use fanwork without asking? Or would they get in trouble?

I guess it's legal but It's not really honest...I'd be furious if someone took my work and published it without even mentioning me. However, I have no idea whether the autor is mentioned or not

I'm hoping they got
RodryCroft's permission.

They would need the artist's permission for a publication like that. I've actually had people steal my fanart for etsy-type products.

If they didn't have permission, it's copyright infringement. There are a few exceptions for fair use, but I doubt this falls within any of those. What magazine is this from?
It's doubtful a reputable publication would make such a blunder as to run an image they didn't have permission to use.

I see the Tangled school of character design is now education for all animators at Disney. Looking back at Tangled, my feelings towards the designs are mixed, even if the animation was otherwise superlative. Nonetheless, unless I'm mistaken, it seems as though the story is going for moral greyness/redemption in regards to the Snow Queen, similar to the arguable complexity of Gothel. That's a good trait to keep.

I remember when Rudycroft did this image last March. His/Her signature is in the bottom right corner. If they didn't get permission that's not right. Plus, what would Disney say about this, promoting an image to an unreleased film that's not by a studio employee.

It’s called Ciak, and it’s pretty serious movie magazine so I’m surprised and shocked they used a fan art without crediting it. Here is their email:

My goodness. I read on Tumblr someone said he/she would e-mail the magazine. Why don't you find out? You should be winning at least something

Please let us know what happened

They probably used your art cause it's better than what Disney will ever release.

Ive had this happen with my own fan art. Lego used my render of Andy's room without my permission to market their Toy Story 3 line.

They're not supposed to do it, but no one will get in any real trouble I don't think. All that happened in my case was I mentioned it to Lee Unkrich through twitter, and within a couple days it was removed and eventually replaced. I got an email telling me it was done in error, and requested that I not talk about it publicly (oops, lol)
One thing that makes this a bit different is this isn't a website, they cant just replace it as in all likelihood they've already printed their run of that issue, so there's no going back. The most they would do is issue a correction or sorts in a future issue. That's only if they feel their reputation is at stake and it needs to be addressed. But they probably wont even do that. They'll probably just apologize privately if they can contact the artist, but that's it.
But yeah, I'm assuming, as with mine they simply Googled the name of the movie, and assumed it was an official image when it was not.
I asked a few people who seemed knowledgeable on copyright law, they all seem to agree I would not have a case in court if I wanted to entertain it, because I didn't own the property in the first place. Only if they continued to use my art would I have anything on them. I assume the same is true here.

She definitely looks younger than Anna. I don't really get it.

Saw Monsters, University yesterday (finally out in Holland). The crowd ate this teaser UP. Biggest response by far to any of the trailers.
Oh and while the teaser was in English (well Josh Gad's one line that is), it said "from the creators of Rapunzel and Wreck-It Ralph". Which is always nice to see.
I'm afraid they're sticking with 'Frozen' here though.
