To think that not even 4 or 5 months ago everyone was asking 'does Disney even remember Mickey anymore? He's more than a preschool babysitter and corporate mascot!' And now we have an entire series of shorts, a new mobile game, a console game, and multiple WDAS projects dedicated to him.
...it almost makes me think... that Disney... is watching this forum.........

Really? I find it awful. It's the only character redesign I really dislike.

I'm not a fan of Goofy's redesign either, but I'm sure this never change Goofy's original look from merchandising.

Disney IS watching this forum. How else do you think they learn about leaks so fast?

They even have an
account here!

If Disney was on these forums then they would know hand-drawn animation still has an audience.

Unfortunately, that audience is probably in the minority.

I wouldn't past it if I were you. It may be a hoax.

I love the coloring and design of this short.
Goofy's kinda mean this time around, isn't he? (Not to mention, he's not wearing pants either for some reason.)

That was the funniest cartoon I've ever seen. I've got to admit, Goofy being mean is a little bit out of character. I like the part where Mickey is imitating Donald Duck. That is so funny. I even laugh so hard when the dog was defiling the fire hydrant.

Is it me or does this cartoon bring some spunk back into Mickey.I mean he really feels a little like his 20's personality again.

His incarnation as Dippy Dawg didn't wear pants, either. And they ALL were a bit of a jerk, even Mickey! In any case, that role of Goofy's would probably be more suited to Pete!

No kidding. Having seen "No Service" (which was funny, by the way), I wouldn't be surprised seeing Disney get away with more stuff throughout the remaining shorts. In a way, it reminds me of Animaniacs.
Anyway, I've established that there seemed to be something different with the Mickey Mouse voice, and it looks like my hunch was right, as highlighted from an
article by, who else, the Rotoscopers:
While the initial assumption would be to think Bret Iwan, Mickey’s official voice, is imitating Walt’s early Mickey voice to match the throwback nature of the series, that’s not the case. According to Disney animator Aliki T. Grafft, in the new shorts Mickey’s got a brand-new voice actor, Chris Diamantopoulos from Arrested Development and The Office. A visit to Diamantopoulos’s own Twitter profile shows that he indeed has been excitedly tweeting about Mickey since March.
This comes as a huge surprise considering the effort Disney makes to preserve the continuity in its characters’ voices. For instance, Wayne Allwine voiced Mickey for nearly 30 years with no replacement. If Bret Iwan has only been Mickey’s voice since 2009, why is Disney already switching things up? Even more peculiar is that the rest of Mickey’s pals in these new cartoons retain their regular voice actors who have personified the characters for years: Russi Taylor as Minnie, Bill Farmer as Goofy, Tony Anselmo as Donald, and Tress MacNeille as Daisy.
Mickey is portrayed in the new series as the plucky adventure-seeker from his early days who lives a bit wilder than the calm, reserved Mickey seen in recent years, so perhaps the change in personality prompted the change in voice.
Whatever the reason, the voice shift to Diamantopoulos only seems to be for the Mickey Mouse shorts series. Bret Iwan is still considered to be the mouse’s official alter-ego. Iwan still voices Mickey in Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and made an appearance as recent as last week at an official, Disney-sponsored fan event at Disneyland.

I read that Chris is not even from the States, he's from Canada! But then, it's actually not the first time that Mickey had been voiced by a non-American. As far as I know, James MacDonald, longtime resident sound effects man whom Walt had appointed as the voice of Mickey, whom he voiced for 30 years, actually was born in Scotland, although he immigrated to the States at a very young age (about six months).
