Disney Duster wrote:I hate that the Mad Hatter is always made "the star" in the posters when the films are really about Alice.
That's the fate of being a A-list star; Higher priority. And Depp usually plays show-stealing characters.

I thought that was a new trailer during OUAT last night. I was going to resurrect this thread about it, but all I could think to say is it looks better than the first movie.

I agree that it definitely looks better than the first one. I'm actually more excited for this than I thought I would be.

Wow this is starting to look way better than the first movie. Now ask me this: I know that Linda Woolverton wrote it but someone said that other writers helped out, now who were the writers that helped out with this one? Definitely more excited for this than I thought I was going to be, more than The Jungle Book to be honest.

I just have one question.
Why the fishpaste is she in a nuthouse?! Last I checked, she was going on a business venture by sea or something.

I think the entire asylum scene takes place during the middle part of the film because there was a little snippet of Alice running to the mirror in her asylum robe in another trailer. I do sort of like this time traveling story in this one, it's way better than the tired, boring "destiny and war story we've seen way to many times" the first one was.

Description of some clips that were shown to the press and an interview with director James Bobin:
http://collider.com/alice-through-the-l ... interview/
And interviews with
Mia Wasikowska and producer
Suzanne Todd.
In the last interview the producer was asked if there are plans for a third film and this is what she answered:
When you made the first movie, you didn’t expect the success that it had or that you’d be making a second one. Do you have plans now for a third one?
TODD: Of course, because when you’ve struggled through the process of what that second story will be, a lot of times what happens is you come up with so many character moments or things that you want to do in the story but you can’t fit them all in, so then you start sloughing them off in your head to that… I literally have a note on my iPad tablet, “Add this, add that.” You’ll see when you see the end of the movie there’s like may be a little bit of a set-up of what might happen.
Is it in the works?
TODD: It isn’t in the works yet, but as I said, it was designed in a way in the movie that you’ll see for an adventure that could be built in if we wanted to go there. Also, there’s that idea of so in the first movie, there is an experience that she had had before the first movie happened. She’s supposed to have gone to Underland as a young child, but you didn’t really see what that was. It’s sort of hinted at what it is. We hint at it again in this one. I always like the idea of making that movie as the third movie, the one that happened before the first movie. But the whole thing, we talk about Alice brain and how it gives you a headache in these time travel movies to try and figure out which day, and which time, and who, where, and what age they were then, and all of that. So, I don’t know. We’ll see.

So the 3rd film is set to be a prequel/remake (by remake, I mean a remake of the famous Alice story of her first adventure in Wonderland)? Well, I'm cool with that (so long as Tim Burton is involved).

I personally hope--if there is a third film--that it isn't a prequel. From flashbacks in the first movie, I thought we were supposed to assume that her first visit to Underland was essentially the version of Alice in Wonderland everyone knows. I was kind of grateful we didn't have to watch those same scenes in an inferior live-action version.

A third film eh? Well I guess it'll depend on whether or not if Alice: Through The Looking Glass is successful. Oh and is it just me or there hasn't been the famous (or infamous) leaked script yet? Usually this happens often for some movies but Disney sure is being tight about it.

UPDATE: Similar to how the Disney parks promoted the
Maleficent film from 2014,
Alice Through The Looking Glass is getting a similar treatment in early May as seen here.

I guess it is a little early, but there isn't really any buzz for this yet ? Whilst being in the cinema, the trailers seem to generate no real interest at all. Though that could just be coincidence, but interesting to note.
I wonder if Johnny Depp's farcical apology video will have any detrimental effect

I guess people are still into
The Jungle Book...
But, the first single from the soundtrack (P!nk's original song for the movie) has been in the iTunes Top 10 since last Friday.
