I'm breaking them up by points. These all received less than 100 points.

The next few will be between 100 and 200 points.....etc etc.

The top 20 will indeed be posted with images....just be patient now...

I am surprised we "dislike" the 70s and early 80s so much, when some of those movies, at least to me, made my Disney childhood memories. Movies like The Rescuers and The Fox And The Hound.

I doubt it. Sleeping Beauty and The Hunchback of Notre Dame are extremely popular on this forum <strike>for some strange reason</strike>. Aladdin and The Little Mermaid are close to the top though.

I really wish Pinocchio would end high up the list.

I'm sad about The Rescuers, but it didn't seem to be on a great number of lists

I hope that The Great Mouse Detective makes it into the top 20...

Nah.. Top 10 maybe, but I don't think the Top 5.

So far, everything is pretty much as expected.
Black Cauldron, I'm rooting for ya in the Top 20! (which is really all im interested in to be honest).

The Black Cauldron is already out, at number 32.

I'm glad Super Aurora's list made it in, but damn man why did you wait so long?

Goliath, I will re-watch it. It's coming to Blu soon, so I could rent it or borrow a friend's someday. I'll see how I feel about those scenes...

I wanted to ask for The Black Cauldron for Christmas, but I feel like holding out for the Blu-ray...

Bambi is not style over substance. Unlike Sleeping Beauty, all the moments really matter. I think that people like you and Dr. Frankenollie think movies need more action, dialogue, and sure, I'll even use the word plot, to be considered "substance", but all substance must be is stuff that moves you or is necessary for some reason. Only the twitterpatted crap bothers me, and it's not unecessary for these characters to mate, its an important stage of life and the film's about showing animal lives, its just the way that Flower and Thumper get betwitched by sexy vixen versions of themselves is downright disgusting as is the "Gay Little Spring Song" coming right after his mother just died.

Bambi does not overdo its beauty at all. It is perfect. It is btoh amazingly beautiful and simple, unlike Sleeping Beauty. Sleeping Beauty does probably overdo it. In fact, it reminds me of what they wanted to do with Bambi but changed because the characters got lost in the backgrounds. Sleeping Beauty needed to ease up a bit.

Rescuers animation didn't look low-key to me. It looked empty. From what I remember. It was like the art Disney was known for went down. I'm sorry. Maybe I'll feel differently when I watch it again. But I just looked at some screencaps and only some of the trippy colors, like in the beginning, are what I'd call good art, and only just the concept of it, not the actual, finished, sketchy, charcoaled product. The Sword in the Stone makes the sketchiness look okay. Not this film. Though I agree with Walt that none of the sketchiness looks very good. Ever.

So sad to see the package features go out so early, but not unexpected. I can't wait to see how the rest of the list turns out...

I'm disappointed that Fantasia 2000 is ranked so low. I'm also sad to see that Treasure Planet is out as well. I was secretly hoping it would make the top 20 as well because I think it's such a vastly under-appreciated film.

I must admit I was surprised people ranked The Jungle Book and The Princess And The Frog very low and wasn't on a lot of people's lists. I always thought The Jungle Book was a big favorite among people that like Disney. I must admit it's not one of my top-favorites either, but did expect it to rank higher. It was Number 13 in the previous Top 20, so I'm guessing it's the one that made the biggest drop, from 13 to 24!
The Emperor's New Groove dropped from Number 20 to 25, not a big change, but enough to miss out on being in the Top 20 again.

I also thought, because Princess And The Frog was sort of the comeback to 2D animation, people would rank it higher. I must say I didn't enjoy it as much as I had hoped and actually fell asleep during it and have yet to watch it again, but somehow do feel Tangled became such a hit thanks to Princess being released the year prior. Don't know why though.
