That already used, but gorgeous Gold Collection DVD cover is looking REAL good right now. I hope the US release is not both movies combined.

On top of that.... it looks HORRILBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Let´s hope that doesn´t happen in Spain.
For example, here we got the chance to buy the Fantasias movies individually.

I think my biggest issue with the 2 movie collections is that although WE know that they are not on par with each other, the average consumer isn't going to know Pocahontas 2 isn't a WDAS film. It really devalues the WDAS output by implying they're on equal footing. Oh well, hope for the best, prepare for the worst! Either way, it's mine!

So true.
If they had left them as "extras" then ok.

Fox and the Hound pissed me off...this just makes me sad. How much do you wanna bet that sole reason Aladdin and 101 Dalmatians got booted from the Diamond line-up is to release them with their DTV sequels.
and I have NO DOUBT that this will be the ONLY edition released in the states. It really does feel like the Disney company cares nothing anymore for their built in adult collectors. They could at least release a collectors edition along side this crap, but no, all we get now are scraps that are being served in first class to stupid parents.
I'm grateful the film will be available in HD, but I'm more glad I held onto my 10th Anniversary dvd set as well. This makes me want to track down any of the dvd sets I've missed as I now know that the blu-rays are ultimately inferior releases outside picture and sound quality.

Someone needs to put a stop to this.
What was the point of ousting Eisner and putting a stop to the DTV's if they're going to torture Disney fans with their existence for the rest of time?
I am sickened by them right now.

I boycott these double film releases on Blu-ray that pair the original animated classics with the DTV films. Really, my main interested in Blu-ray is the new extras to add to the DVD's and that Blu-rays are a bit more child proof, which I think will matter later on when I start having kids.
However, if this is what they are going to release, I'm better off. I loved the 2 disc DVD and it really is good enough, especially if this is the alternative. I wait to see what they have cooked up officially for the US however. But unless they re-release "Fox and the Hound" (not holding my breath), I refuse to own that one on Blu-ray. The DVD is superior to it anyway.

you know what's gonna happen if you boycott these films.. we'll have multiple Herculeses.
anyway, in Greece the release schedule is
Pocahontas 1 23 April
Pocahontas 2 23 April
it seems we are getting the original Fox and the Hound as a standalone release as well. so I hope we get individual releases.
I never liked the second film, even as a child. Now I hate it. they created the whole first film to show you how painful their seperation was and how deeply in love they were and in the second one she leaves him and she just picks the same guy with a different wig

Well, we knew this was going to happen. It is a hideous cover, though.

i think it's beautiful, but i think john smith should appear in the cover, he is more important than John Rolfe

Guys, the Pocahontas movies are (partly) based on a real story and apparently the real Pocahontas did love this other guy

So not Disney's fault

You know that historical accuracy went out the window when she started talking to the tree, right?
Anyhow... vom. I'm holding out hope the U.S. won't actually get stuck with this, but we better be getting all the old special features and the extended cut and the sequel better not compromise any of the A/V quality.

So do I, man, so do I. But its strange that there's no information about the US release of this movie.

Now that is some good news!

Yikes. Pairing the film with its sequel... I'm already preparing for the worst. I refused to buy Fox and the Hound on principle because it was forced in with its sequel. Honestly, it didn't surprise me that Disney was treating Fox that way, considering they seem to think little of it. But, Pocahontas? I was under the impression Disney was especially proud of it, despite it being ignored by the general public. Why else would it get so many re-releases when they ignored other, better films like Hunchback and Hercules and Great Mouse Detective? But if it is paired with its sequel, I for one won't be buying it.
Someone here should start a petition to get stand-alone releases for not only this, but retroactively for Fox and the Hound as well. Maybe we can send a clear message to Disney that we, the consumers, DO NOT want this. And maybe, if that message is loud and clear enough, we can stop this from happening to future releases as well. (Because I swear if this happens to my beloved Hunchback or Aladdin...)

That cover seems fan made. They used the same colors and lettering from Fantasia 2 movie collection

Disney used it for both Fantasia and Fox and the Hound. This looks legit like it's part of their new "2 Movie Collection" line.

the styling is different between Fantasia and Fox and the Hound.
but the cover does not look fan made. most of the artwork is taken from the VHS covers.
