By the time Pixar releases Finding Dory later that June, they will be back on top, officially.

BTW: Like I said in the Giants thread, I just love how Sony, Dreamworks etc. can fully announce movies in 2016 (2 YEARS FROM NOW) and beyond, and announce every single detail while Disney and Pixar pretends their movies don't exist. :glare:

That's how WDAS rolls. They keep everything in secret then shove it all in your face a few months before release. Remember it wasn't til July that WDAS announced the voice cast for BH6, just 4 months before the film's release. I also remember earlier this year most people had no idea WDAS was releasing BH6 this November. Pixar isn't nearly as bad. They usually release a teaser trailer to their films almost a year before the film's release, as Inside Out's first trailer should drop tomorrow, nearly 9 months before it's June 19 release.

You also forgot this film in July 2016:

I think this will be Dory's major competition that summer, at least in the international market. Ice Age 4 made $715 million outside the U.S.

With squeals to Nemo, Ice Age & an Angry Birds movie from Sony, I see why DreamWorks moved HttyD3 to 2017. They want no part of this :D

Byron Howard is on the right.

I know that I'm somewhat provocative, but I think Disney should do an African-themed film including Africans. Not necessarily for politically correct reasons, but because Disney could make an African-themed film with Africans with accuracy and grace (if you'll exclude the fact that they had Africans in the "Tarzan"-series). I'm not trying to provoke people who felt that Disney screwed their chance with "The Princess and the Frog".

Oh God! That's enough of Ice Age movies! Seriously, this is getting way out of hand.

Agreed. I'm one of those who thought the two first sequels were improvements over the first movie, but the fourth movie was awful. Let the franchise die.

I basically see the Ice Age movies as a necessity for Blue Sky to make more personal projects (like Epic, Ice Age and Peanuts). The last two made almost a billion dollars worldwide and with that added revenue, they can do more ambitious and personal films.

Zootopia/Moana is an interesting combo. Both musicals, too, right?

I know Moana is a musical, but I haven't seen that Zootopia is . . . I'd be curious if anyone else has seen something. It'd be interesting to me, personally, because from inception I always assumed it was NOT a musical (the premise doesn't seem like something you would take in a musical direction).

I asked Brendan Connelly (who first leaked that Giants is now 2018) recently and he said that it's not a musical.

Oh, my bad. I thought someone had said a page or so back that it was said to be a musical. That was probably the only reason I was slightly interested in it. :P

No new news on Zootopia "of course" but now it has some legit competition in March 2016 thanks to a new DreamWorks Animation shake-up:

Yeeeeaaaaaah, Dreamworks clearly is doing that on purpose. But, that is actually a smart move! The only way this would succeed is if Disney moved Zootopia to January, which would be a great idea!

January is box office suicide. Unless your movie is mainly a romance...

OH PLEASE DEAR LORD NO.

I refuse to ship a fox and a rabbit.

Mostly because it's too embarrassing to admit animal couples can be cute too.
