Hmm. That's an interesting poster. However, I probably would've preferred to have it like the one on the cover of D23.

I LOVE that poster! I think marketing is actually doing a lot better now then they were before.

Anyways posted on the facebook website:

What exactly *is* a "Disney looking movie"? You start to sound like Disney Duster, so be careful.

Disney's movies all look so different, that there's no such thing as a particular Disney 'look'.

The *only* thing I dislike about Rapunzel, is that she's yet another Disney heroine who's unrealistically thin. If you look at her arms and her figure, you would think she's anorexic. Like Ariel. And Jasmine. And Megara. When will Disney create a heroine who looks normal? I don't have to see a fat princess, but just one who looks healthy. Isn't it enough that unhealthy skinny super-models brainwash our youth into thinking they've got to look like that? Does Disney *have* to contribute to that?

It's true, Disney heroines are usually thin. But the thinnest one is Giselle from "Enchanted".

What a beautiful drawing. When I see those concept drawings, it makes me wish that this film was done in 2D instead. Sorry for bitching.

Sorry, I didn't mean to post the same message twice. It's the computers fault.

Hhm, now that you mention it, the only Disney heroine I can think of at the moment whose on the pudgy side is Lilo, though that is part of why I like Lilo & Stitch so much: its realism. If you take out the aliens, it's an almost-realistic depiction of a broken family and the sibling fights between Nani and Lilo are almost un-comfortable to watch (and I have a feeling that was one aspect that got the film its PG rating), due to how Sanders and DeBlois didn't hold back.

Back on topic, un-realistically drawn human characters seem to be one of Glen Keane's trademarks. Ariel, Aladdin, Pocahontas and especially Tarzan all have more exaggerated characteristics than human Disney characters usually do (so, obviously not counting animals or magical beings like the Genie). That said, he's still one of Disney's best character animators, in my opinion.

Wow, I get distracted and go MIA for a few weeks and have sooo much to catch up on! :o

I don't mind the thin characters so much, they're cartoon characters and are supposed to be an exaggeration. It's not the same as photoshopping a real women into stick figures; Disney characters aren't passed off as "real people" like we see from magazines and such.

Really? I thought Megara was much thinner, hence her unusually thin torso. :?

I guess the reason why Disney made girls look thin, to attract boys to act like hound dogs to howl at girls as they fall in love. In other words, they want boys to have a crush on Disney girls. To tell you the truth, the art of Rapunzel from Disney got me, in other words I got a crush on her. I could not take my eyes off her. She may be cute, but she surly could have some common sense. I feel like a hound dog already, howling and whistling at her. AH-OOOO-GA!

Then they fail cause anime seems to be winning in that department.

You're confusing Warner brothers for Tex Avery. Tex is one who iconic the trademark wolf lust.
