Well, if content is coming alive, I think it'd be a good idea to get out of the room during the "bang bang" scenes. ;)

To be quite honest, the Platinum DVD was pretty good, and it's good it looks like they may be preserving the best (hopefully the same making of will be there; sadly I doubt they'll include the restoration featurette, as it makes a casual mention to Bambi II :|). I'm guessing that the "enhanced version" of Walt's story meetings will be that they'll be converting it to HD and doing all sorts of flashy Blu-ray stuff with it. They should also source some older trailers; the 1988 trailer was apparently included on the laserdisc, so there's a start. I like the sound of Diane's introduction, and the Disney Big Book of Knowledge interests me as well for whatever reason; it at least sounds more engaging than a game like "Painting the Roses Red".

Sounds real poor to be honest.

Take out the old DVD features and you have nothing.

At least they're actually including DVD stuff, unlike with Fantasia.

The Platinum was quite solid, and I wouldn't say reusing the stuff done there is necessarily a bad thing, as nice as it would be to include tons of new stuff. The documentary here was one of the first to use the current Disney standard (50 minutes, including chapters/sections), and doesn't go off on many tangents or into "isn't it great!" mode. It equally includes some brief information about the original novel and its road to Disney, which is interesting considering the original book is quite obscure and not something Walt would have obviously opted to adapt (such as Peter Pan or Alice in Wonderland).

Disney is not that crazy to put the titles of their movies on the sides like that.
The product pages are now up on Amazon.com, and they feature the same covers with the sideways text...I'm thinking these are real...

Would Amazon upload a preliminary design and/or fan art as a place holder?

Wow, I never would have thought that to be official, if preliminary, art by Disney. The sideways title looks so amateurish to me. What were they thinking?!?

The covers are actually starting to grow on me.

The Amazon listings are now accepting pre-orders. I am not sure if this is an update or if it was already there last night when I posted links. I might have just missed it.

In all seriousness from the head to the positions of the characters those are some truly ugly ass covers...the insert inside Toy Story 3 or Beauty and the Beast would ahve been MUCHHHH better.

Can't wait to see what makes the Story Meetings interactive. Maybe it'll be like the enhancement pods on the Alien Anthology Blu-Rays, and branch off with additional information.

The never-before-scene deleted scenes likely will still NOT be man's bloody arm.

I think the deleted song might "Rain Drops" (an earlier version of what ultimately became "Little April Showers"). A snippet of it was featured in the 1998 VHS/laserdisc documentary "Bambi: The Magic Behind the Masterpiece", but wasn't included on the 2005 DVD.

The Blu-ray cover art makes me think of Clifford the Big Red Dog towering over his loved ones. :P

It looks like Flower is giving it to Thumper from behind. Also the sideways title is LAME!!!

The 2-disc dvd artwork is so much better than the Blu. Maybe this is to keep the dvd buyers satisfied since they miss out on so much without Blu.

The DVD cover looks good, cute, and classy. Glad this is also getting a new DVD release.

That cover looks so cool! But the whole "Bambi looking at the butterfly on his butt" image is a bit overused. Maybe something a bit different was done by Disney.

I hope the covers on Amazon aren't real.

The Blu-ray cover is hideous but the DVD cover is gorgeous.

Actually, I hope they just use the DVD cover for both.
