To me the best new about this release (judging from what DVDbeavers says) is that Disney finally decided to release this catalog title as region FREE
Although I must say I wait for the 3bluray pack that is sure to be released later this year with toy story 3.
For sure they are going to slash the price.

Pixar Catalog titles have been Region-Free for some time now. Toy Story isn't the first.

True, but you were indicating that the other Pixar films weren't either.

Can anyone tell me what exactly was new on the 10th Anniversary Edition for Toy Story and the 2-Disc Special Edition for Toy Story 2?
The UD reviews state what was left out but can't tell which were new because many of the features aren't stated anywhere if they are new/ported over.
Can anyone confirm this scratch list?
Toy Story
Intro by Lasseter
Legacy featurette
Shortened Making of Toy Story
Filmmaker's Reflect
Designing Toy Story
New music video of Randy Newman
Toy Story 2
Intro by Lasseter
Making Toy Story 2 featurette
Which Toy Are You? game
Ponkickies game
A Character Interview with Woody/Buzz/some character

Hard to say, because some of the featurettes are partly new, partly old, partly recut but pretty much the same type of thing. theres tiny things here and there.

The "making ofs" were new, but some were cut from old material.
The Toy Story Reflection is new.
Toy Story Legacy was new
the Games were new
The art galleries were encoded into video, rather than interactive
the animation tests were old, with the exception of Glenn McQueen's introduction to the TS2 ones, in which there's a new Woody test.
It was mostly a combination of old and new.

I'd give it a few more days. We JUST got the prices for Princess and the Frog.
On the DVD covers, they're so fun and alive! I think because they try so hard to push blu-rays, the covers feel conservative. But these DVDs, since Disney doesn't care for, the artists seem to just be themselves which turned out much prettier than the blu-ray covers.
I'm laughing so hard at the size of those logos!

I'm very excited about these movies coming to Blu-ray! First we get Princess and the Frog, then a week later we get the Toy Stories, then two weeks later it's the LotR trilogy on Blu-ray.
I just wish the Toy Stories were coming with digital copies

Digital Bits has some interesting info on what the new blu rays will keep from the SE's (just about everything) & from the Ultimate Toy Box (lots left behind). Glad I sold off my SE's.

Target Price 3/23-3/27
Toy Story and Toy Story 2 - $19.99 each
$10.00 off if you buy both
Free DVD-Game with both.
So, with the $5 coupon, that brings both films to a total of $25 for both together.

I thought there were two $5 coupons. One for each Toy Story?

Wait, wouldn't $19.99 each bring them to $39.98. Then $10 off would bring that to 29.98. I'm assuming that 2 $5 coupons will be issued (one for each) and that would bring it down to a total of
$19.98. Now, since by then I'd get the two $8 upgrade-to-blu coupons for them, that would bring me down to a total of $3.98. Correct?

Maybe Disney should decide to give their Blu-ray Discs not away for free in the US, so they could sell them for less than $40 each in Europe.

For any non-us Toy Story fans, I just found a site Dvd.co.uk that is having a limited time promotion on Disney blu-ray and dvd. Buy one get one free.
Ts1 and Ts2 are part of it. As well as Dumbo. They are 18 pounds, plus a pound each for postage, making it 20 pound for two movies, Which is about Us$ 30 (15 each) or in my language AUD $33 (16.50 each) which is better than any deal I get in Australia, or my normal choice of Amazon.
I just got the Toy stories, Wall e and Dumbo!!!!
So check out, DVD.CO.UK, it may suit some the European or Aussie buyers!!!
Cheers Greg
