What do you think of this package? Isn't it great? I think it's his best greatest hits collection. Although there were 3 songs on the Number Ones CD that aren't on here, I think this CD is much better.
I think it's probably the best single compilation of Michael Jackson music on the market, though the absence of "Scream" is a major drawback. "Scream" is missing from most MJ compilations, for that matter, and I can only conclude that it's because of the 'F-word'. The double-disc
HIStory: Past, Present, and Future - Book 1 also makes an excellent MJ compilation, one that might rival
The Essentials 3.0 (and it has "Scream").

Where did you find this and how much was it? I've been looking for this one!
I got it from Amazon (currently available for $10.97). I've also seen it heavily stocked at several Best Buy stores.

Why did you choose this one over
Thriller 25? I bought this one too!
I already have
Thriller 25!

Michael Jackson - The Stripped Mixes
Is this one any good? I've been on the fence about this one.
I haven't finished listening to it yet, but I dig it so far. These aren't completely a cappella versions, but they are stripped down to varying degrees, depending on the track. I guess the most important goal here is to emphasize Michael's incredible voice at a young age, and this project certainly does that.

Michael Jackson - Got to Be There
Michael Jackson - Ben
I also recently picked up this commemorative vinyl:
Michael Jackson - Thriller (25th Anniversary Edition Commemorative LP)

Okay Aaron, I hate to bug you again, but where did you find Got to be There and Ben? I've been looking for those too but they're only available on the
Hello World compilation and I really can't afford to be spending the $40something on that set.

If you mean original as in it was purchased in 1982 then it probably is worth something on eBay.

Woah, I didn't know about that
Hello World compilation until now! Still, I think I'd prefer his four Motown solo albums on their own CDs. I happened to find these two in Best Buy tonight. There were several copies of each, for $12-13 each. Not bad! They looked like imports but weren't labeled as such. They didn't have his other two Motown solo albums in stock. Motown really needs to get on the ball with their Michael Jackson/The Jackson 5 catalog.

Yeah, that's another reason why I don't really want the
Hello World compilation. Sometimes I'll get really lucky at Best Buy and find a rare import. I once found the
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs 2001 reissue soundtrack imported and I bought it. I also saw
The Little Mermaid soundtrack double pack (which included the soundtracks to the first two films),
Toy Story and
Pinocchio soundtracks. I got extremely lucky once and found the German 2004 remastered special edition of Aaliyah's album
One in a Million, but these were all about 2 years ago. Maybe if tomorrow they have good sales I'll drop by and check.

With records, it really has to be in good condition with no rot (I had to do some research into that topic because I sold some records on eBay for a friend before).
So, just FYI, if you look to see how much the record is going for, make sure to take into consideration the condition of the record.

Got this like a week ago, but never got around to posting it:
Michael Jackson: Bad [Original 1987 Release], $7.99 used at FYE. I wanted this original version so I could get the original versions of the 5 songs that were modified for the 2001 Special Edition.
According to Wiki, there were a number of changes made to the 2001 SE:
1. "Bad" has a modified horn arrangement.
2. "The Way You Make Me Feel" has richer vocalizations and background vocals.
3. "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" omits Michael Jackson's spoken intro.
4. "Dirty Diana" is replaced with the 7-inch edit of the song.
5. "Smooth Criminal" omits the dramatic breathing within the intro.

I haven't had a chance to listen to the whole CD yet, but the songs I heard are all really good. As I like to say, Miley can't let me down!

Me too. I listened to a few of the albums yesterday (Rubber Soul, Hard Day's Night, Revolver...part of Sgt. Pepper) its all really good. I love how clear and clean evrything on Rubber Soul is. You really hear the jangling guitars.
