Although it has been posted through another link on this page, it could be easily missed.
Anyway, I think this looks cool and disney should at least be airing this on TV or something like it (along with ads which give you the idea that it has a story).

I have to say I am intrigued...Martians do look like shit though. I'll reserve judgement since I know far too little about E.R Burroughs work. I am confident about it's director!

^ If I weren't so tired, I'd watch the whole thing right now...scanned through it, though, and it's neat. I love stuff like that, movies that never came out!

That fan trailer is awesome!
Very interesting about a sequel being in the works...I'm not really surprised. And I mean, Disney has jumped the gun with that in the past and canceled sequels. I do hope that
John Carter does well, though.

It seems like these days at Disney, one can't help but play the "but what if the movie was named something else" game, huh...?

I was at Disneyland yesterday, two weeks before the movie comes out and the only ads I saw were a trio of posters on one of the "soundstages" in DCA facing the Esplanade. No merchandise from what I could see either.
Not good at all for a "tentpole release".

Yeah Disney suck with advertising or rather it only advertise and promote merchandise when ever it's convenience to them or if they know this movie would be success. They seems to not have faith in this movie. It's the same deal with the Winnie the Pooh movie. The day it came out , there was little to no merchandise or promotion of it in NYC Disney store.

@Hogi Bear: That fan trailer you posted is really good. It's a shame Disney hasn't promoted this more, because this movie looks like an entertaining, nostalgic adventure.

Yeah, I reckon they should make one like that (a bit longer), with new footage and more information on its past and buy half or full ad breaks between the most popular TV shows.
They could start off a trailer with a themed text introduction:
eg
One hundred years ago, Edgar Rice Burroughs published two books that would influence generations of authors and film makers alike. One was Tazan, the other was a Princess of Mars, which this film is based on.
Many of our favourite films, including Star Wars, were inspired by his books.
Or whatever...........
