It depends. The 3D would be cool, If I choose not to see Monsters VS. Aliens in 3D AND I'm already looking forward to HBP in IMAX 3D. My limit is 2. I just don't like the idea of it becoming the norm.

after reading what the movie is about (that link to the spoiler about the first 45 minutes) I definitely DO NOT WANT TO SEE THIS. I know its "PIXAR" but the plot is too bizarre for me.

What about this trailer?

It's supposed to be like a classic adventure film.

the trailer is boring. Classic adventure film? It'll be nothing like Treasure Island or Swiss Family Robinson (Great Disney Films, BTW).

I'll spend my $ on other movies instead.

Okay. It's your loss.

If anything, I'm more excited about the film than ever! The first trailer was boring. This one rocks!

I didn't really like Ratatoullie, and WALL-E wasn't that great either (saw it once in the theater, and I got the DVD for Christmas, but I haven't had any urge to watch it).

I will of course go see Up, but I just hope it's better than Pixar's previous 2 films.

But for whatever odd reason I absolutely LOVED Cars. >_>

I LOVED Cars, too! My youngest nephew just turned 2 years old last month and when the movie is in the DVD player, he sits still for a long time. He LOVES Lightning McQueen.

I saw CARS a 2nd time because my theatre cut off those special parts of the credits when I saw it opening day (I guess they didn't think anyone would still be watching the credits).


Still won't see UP, but I can't WAIT for NaTM2. BTW, if National Treasure ever has a 3rd movie, I'll see that.

Considering that this film seems to go back to the "fun times" of Pixar before Ratatouille(or Cards), I have high hopes for this one! Lasseter himself says it's probably the funniest one they've ever made, and we've seen how his word can be trusted, even if it's only an opinion.

I'm a Pixar fan and I've enjoyed all their films (cried in Wall-E) but I totally see what Lasseter is saying. The trailer and the clips have made me laugh - the characters just seem so unique and quite the hilarious match.

And I also really see the classic adventure side- it's Carl's dream to take this trip and I think it will be one crazy ride. Pixar has this great quality of mixing light hearted comedy with a really meaningful story and from what I have read and seen so far, this totally lives up to that legacy!

I'm really excited for this release. I think it looks like another hit for Pixar. It looks like another creative and original story, which is great. We have a lot of sequels to look forward to in the future from Pixar, not that that is a bad thing (except for Cars, which probably will be) but it will be nice to see another original piece with new characters and adventures.

Well, considering I didn't like Cars as much, I'd say the sequel should be better. Toy Story 3's for ideas that never made it into the previous ones, so the same thing can help.

I really did not like Cars, in my opinion it fell far short of the other Pixar films. There are so many things about this film I didn't like: the characters, the concept, the story... I could go on for a while. On the one hand, my poor opinion of Cars might make it easy for Cars 2 to outshine the original. However, my expectations for this film remain low since the characters and concept won't change much, if at all.

Visuals and characters(okay, maybe characters do) have nothing to do with what ended up as a poorly-written story.

And fueling my Pixar obsession even more, I found this little clip. Of course its got my favorite- Russell. Doesn't he capture like every complaining tired child?

I seriously can't get enough of these. But I will say that I am glad that they don't give away too much of the story.

Thank you for posting that! I don't want to be spoiled about the story but just had to watch the trailer. It looks absolutely stunning!

I just saw the recent trailer and like every other Pixar film, I still cannot wait to see this move. The part with the dog with the talking collar was amusing and the visuals looked pretty nice.

(I have no interest of seeing Night at the Museum 2. MAYBE I'll rent it.)

I loved that feature- I thought it was very informative. I think it's great to hear the thought process behind using 3D. When you consider the depth of the rain forest and how 3D animation can make that come alive, it only makes sense that they would use the technology.

And you have to think that each time you see beautiful visuals- try imagining that in 3D - I seriously can't wait.

But what I really wanted to post is this review. No surprise that the film is getting rave reviews- especially for those that read all the great news coming out of partial screenings. The review is somewhat spoiler free but here is a sampling of it.

Overall, I’d rate UP up there with the studio’s bests along with THE INCREDIBLES and TOY STORY. (At this point having done cars, robots, and old people, there’s pretty much nothing Pixar can’t handle.) I honestly find it hard to think of a negative thing to say. The audience ate it up, both young and old alike.
