Chills. Absolute chills. One of the best, if not THE BEST, episode of the entire series!
When Lynette walked out of her house, saw that Karen's house had been destroyed, and let out that yell, I felt that emotion. Amazing. Felicity Huffman is an amazing talent. This cast is terrific, and with this season, they have shown why
Desperate Housewives is must see television.

Was it wrong for me to laugh ... well giggle ... when Sylvia flew out the door?
Also ... yay @ Victor dying ...
And ... The destruction looked more like a hurricane had hit ... because that's kinda how my neighborhood looked after Hurricane Andrew back in 1992 ...

Sorry RTD, but that's how the neighborhood looks after a tornado hits. I have personally seen the damage after a tornado and you can have one house standing without a scratch and the house next door totally gone. You can almost trace the path of twister by the amount of damage.
We had one town here in Kansas wiped totally out by a tornado earlier this year, it has a base of over a 1/2 mile wide and the only thing left standing was the refrigerators in a local tavern, and an old brick building that had very minimal damage. The town was Greensburg, Kansas. Over 600 homes leveled, and about one third of those people are in the process of rebuilding today.
Back to tonight's episode..............this was probably the best of the lot. It had a lot of sadness, humor and terror all rolled into a 42 minute episode.
Susan and Mike are going to try to make this marriage work. Mike is going to rehab and Susan is going to stand by him through it all.
The fight between Edie and Gaby was priceless. And the scream from Lynette sent chills up and down my spine. Felicity Huffman should get the Emmy alone for that scene.
Marc Cherry and his staff have a really great season on their hands, let's hope that the writer's strike doesn't change the momentum they have started.

Oh ... ok ...
That's how a hurricane is too ... Your example of one house without a scratch and the other totally gone ...
I guess since I am used to hurricanes ... being from Florida and all ... I always thought hurricanes were more destructive than tornadoes ... and from my experience ... that end scene looked just like when Hurricane Andrew hit South Florida in August of 92 ...

So we know that Victor is dead....who do we think is the other?
In my personal belief, it's Carlos. I think Gabi is going to be stuck with no love interests.

Jasmine,we already know who the two are. Viktor and Sylvia.

I think TOM is dead. Did anyone notice when mary alice says "SOMEONE's HUSBAND WILL DIE" the wind thingy (IDK the name) points to the SCAVO house...

Last night was incredible! I am still getting chills from Lynette shreaking in freakinsh horror at Mrs. McClusky's demolished house (even though this past week's Entertainment Weekley (though unknowingly) kinda spoiled that for me).
I really am not sure who is dead! Mary Alice stated that the ladies would lose a "friend." Now, I'm 100% sure Victor is the husband (he was still married to Gabby), but who is the friend? It's certianly not Sylvia, only Bree and Katherine knew her. I have a feeling it could be Ida, because she's a minor character that doesn't really need to be there.
I also liked how they pulled a Sleepy Hollow with Victor's death, I wonder if Marc Cherry has ever seen that movie?
Well, as long as Mrs. McClusky is not dead, I'm still happy!

No. In fact I was giggling a little too. Thank goodness she's dead because she couldn't act at all!
Did anyone else notice that while Victor and Carlos were fighting the gusting wind knocked down Bob and Lee's outdoor fountain (from Art Isn't Easy)? Too funny!
I loved Gabi and Edie bonding while hiding out from the torando. Very good stuff.
I was so worried when Karen ran out after the cat, I thought for sure she would die. I'm glad she didn't, as she is one of my favorite characters.
I hope Tom is okay. He's too sexy to die!

Four people died ... two that we saw ... and two that we didn't ...
We saw the husband die ... but we didn't see the friend die ...
And the fourth person ... well their death will have ramifications ... and will be explored in episode 10 ...

AWESOME news!!! Thanks for the info!
But why push it back in March to 10PM for Oprah's crappy new show? Does ABC really think it'll be bigger than DH?
Posted: Sat Dec 15, 2007 6:06 pm
by Rowlf_The_Dog
Because DH repeats better than B&S ...
ABC is also probably thinking ... that people might stick around after extreme makeover home edition ... to see Oprah give stuff away LOL ...
The episode title will make more sense after you have seen the episode LOL ...
Like most DH episode titles ... this episode is named after a Sondheim lyric ... this one's from Pacific Overtures ... The song involves a madam at a brothel ...
If you like spoilers ... The episode is probably named after the Bree/Susan storyline where they try to pimp Andrew out for their own benefit (i.e. a gay contractor to repair their respective homes) ...
