The picture doesnt seem to be better than the R1... Though I hoped it would...

If anyone can tell me how to take screencaps of the movie, I'll upload them so that we can see the diffirence... Dont think there are any other copies out on R2?? :D
Why should it be better. Just because of PAL?
Pal has more lines and therfore obviously a higher resolution... And before this was reason enought for the R2 transfer to be a tat better, The Incredibles, Bambi, Aladdin ect.

More resolution, but some would consider the "speed-up" issue a problem.

Maybe this IS the maximum that you can get out of it. Or else the whole discussion about the restoration gone too far would start all over again,as it did with Cinderella, BatB, LatT...

Only sometimes the R2 image is better, in many other cases the R1 image is better... check this comparison for Aladdin which proves the R1 is better: http://whiggles.landofwhimsy.com/writin ... addin.html

The Little Matchgirl is a fantastic short, but I wish that there was some "behind the scenes" or "making of" feature for it. It kinda deserves it.

Overall: Great DVD! I give it a 8/10.
Don't be silly. Making Of's are only made for Disney Channel Circle of Stars music videos.
lol netty if they are stars how come i don't know any of them lol they change from platinum to platinum and the videos get cheesier and cheesier......

I think it was on the end of the second VHS release. It might be somewhere on YouTube, but it's just her walking on the beach.

Oh, no, you're getting to 100 pages, I say! There's that restoration thread someone opened that should get merged...

Given the fact that in a search, there's 105 threads alone with "The Little Mermaid" or "TLM" in the title, one could easily merge all of those together for a 100-page thread. :P

Dottie how many more signatures do you need?

Posted: Sat Nov 25, 2006 3:50 pm
by Dottie
Maybe about twice as much!! OR EVEN MORE!!!! AS MANY AS WE CAN GET!!!
We're talking about BV. They caved in with the Alias Season sets here in Germany when they reached like 5000 signatures. At the moment we have 1012 and 677. So you see, still a long way to go. But we appreciate every single signature that helps us get our original Ariel back!!
Thanks for asking!!
