I would've loved this picture if her right thumb weren't missing (or in hiding). It'll probably look better animated (sometimes stills just don't look right).
Anyway, I don't think I was ever really "excited" about this movie until I just read what Jens posted. If they do those scenes properly, I could like this more than the original. *gasps* Blasphemy! Anyway, am I the only one who loves the shot in the trailers where Lady Tremaine is holding Lucifer (presumably in the palace) and he's jumping down? Her facial expression just looks so incredibly on model (even if her dress is a bit darker than her original one) and brings back to my mind why I absolutely adore her as a villainess. I hated the re-drawn foot-to-slipper scene though.

I adore the stills from the movie, but I can't wait to hear the songs or some music from the film. This is what, in my opinion can make or break a film. And I so want them to be good. The music used in the trailer was wonderful. Not the Escape from the Palace at Midnight bit, as that is from Cinderella I, but the "ahhahhhahh" bit the chorus sings near the end. And this sound very simmiler to the title track 'Cinderella', which I hope they copy to some extent in C III.
Just my thoughts!
I very much agree with you on the music. To me, the sequel music has been terrible aside from Brother Bear 2 which I thought rivaled the original's music. I've noticed that most of the time the songs in the sequels tends to be more about a current situation that the character is in instead of a song that is more universal like in the original movies if that makes any sense.
I want sweeping epic music, not some little diddy about cleaning house ya know?

Now I really can't wait to see Cinderella III. The only time I saw Cinderella II was on the tv because it was aring for one of the stations, so I don't remember to much. Disney Duster thank you for all the pictures and information. I can't wait to see the final product.

Okay, many things. First, I agree, stills often don't look as good when they are out of the context of the rest of the animation. As for blasphemy, I know you were joking about it being blasphemy, but that prospect of enjoying the sequel more than the original is scarily possible. Many people think the original was rather boring, and lacked real danger. This certainly adds more danger, and more magic, and the magic bits are the highlights of the first. Still, it would only be blasphemy if you said the animation and art of this was better than the original, as the artists of this sequel are not as trained as those who did the original. The original
Cinderella will always be tops to me, especially since it is the visuals that I most watch it for, and will always be unparalleled in my eyes.
As for Lady Tremaine's gown, I have a felling it's supposed to be "darker", or rather, purple. In every scene of the trailer, it's dark purple, as it is in the promotional images on the
official site. So instead of making her a brand new costume, they either A) had her wearing an outfit that was almost exact, just purple instead of red, or B) the magic of the wand
changed the color of her dress. The web site's image shows a much greener looking garden than in the orignal, so perhaps the wand's power alters colors. What's curious is that the stepmother's dress is its original red on the cover.
As for the redrawn foot-to-slipper scene, huh? Do you mean where that hand slips of the plain shoe in close-up? That wouldn't be called redrawn, because it's not supposed to be the same scene (we never see the Grand Duke remove Cinderella's work shoe in the original). In fact, take a look at this:
In the trailer, there is a hand (probably the prince's) taking off a brown shoe:

In the original
Cinderella, we see that Cinderella's shoes are black, and don't have a heel like the one taken off in the trailer:

But we do see what looks like that shoe on the stepsister's feet. I couldn't find a shot of Anastasia's shoes, but found one of Drizella's:

Conclusion: It's a stepsister's shoe being taken off.

That's probably it. I don't think I was paying very close attention at the time and remember thinking, "I thought Cinderella's foot was a lot nicer than that (as far as feet go anyway)." If it's Drizella's foot, then that explains it.

I didn't think the original was boring, I just thought that it moved very slowly. My type of movie is one that's classic (that doesn't delve
too much into comedy for its appeal [ie:
The Emperor's New Groove,
Aladdin]), but is constantly going from event to event.
Cinderella is much more subtle (and far more realistic) than most of Disney's "fairy tale" films, and that's probably the only way I can explain why I'd like the sequel more. I like the idea of the Stepmother gaining some kind of magical ability, although that kind of makes her less unique. In fact, it's almost as if she's turning into a Maleficent clone considering they had so much alike to begin with.

I'm just glad they found someone very similar to Audley to voice her.
As for the original's art being unchallenged, I think that goes without saying. All of Disney's older films have beautiful animation (the backgrounds are phenomenal), even if don't particular connect with the story. This is how I feel about
Snow White. It's an artistic masterpiece, but I couldn't care less about the story.

but Disney Duster, I thought the glass sliper became bigger not Anastasia's foot became smaller
on another note..... This movie sounds to good to be ture, the quality of the art, how well the story is thought through, the animation, the colour accuracy! everything seems so amazing! (except the bonus features)

Disney's Divinity: Yea, at first I was like "Wasn't Cinderella's foot supposed to be
small?", and this is the first time I'm paying real attention (thanks to you, so you helped me learn that). Anyway, yea, you're right, the movie is kind of slow. However, I always feel it's too short, but it could just be from anticipating every next moment after knowing what will happen by heart. And I also agree that I think some films are too comical to be taken as serious fairy tales (Jafar doesn't do much for me because he's such a wimpy oaf). Yet, they're all still classics to me. And I guess all I have more to say is that I agree with you about the art. I love your posts, so thoughtful and often touching on things I feel the same way about. In fact, I even noticed how Lady Tremaine would soon be even closer to Maleficent, too! Which is why, I'm guessing,
lord-of-sith is so excited about this film, as Susan Blakeslee does Tremaine in this as well as Maleficent in Kingdom Hearts.

Well, actually, I think it's Drizella's foot in that still, but that doesn't matter. The foot looked pretty big to me, so I don't think the foot changed size. I'm 100% sure that you are right, the slipper changes size. I guess the foot just looks smaller to you.
And as for the bonus features, well, I'm really looking forward to using the fairy godmother's wand to make my own magic, and sneak behind the scenes of Twice Charmed!

Okay thanks for that.
One of the times I was at Disney World they had a Cinderella live action show at one of the resorts we stayed at, but it was true to the original movie and just a re-enactment, kind of like The Little Mermaid show at MGM or The Lion King at TMK.
Sort of Sneak peek at Cinderella III!!!

This is not a sneak peek of the movie, but videos on the musical the movie is based on. As we all know, it's based on the Disney Cruise Line show "Twice Charmed." In the link below, you will find 4 pages worth of info about the show, plus 6 videos from the show. If Cinderella III would be like this, then i think it would be a good sequel.
Oh yeah, you can only watch these videos if you have RealPlay.

Oh this is exciting. I wonder if Wal-Mart or other stores will get this? I can just read through it at the store since I really don't have a reason to buy it.

Thank you for this link
It seems to be a really nice show. Too sad I´m not going to be on a cruise line in the next few weeks
I think for a musical the plot is very good.
But I´m glad they will not use this Fairy Godfather-idea in the movie.
On the other hand Lady Tremain is not a sorceress, and that´s what makes her so evil in the original movie.
Instead of magic she uses humilation to reach her aims.
But this Franko-character would make this sequel look like all the other sequels: The hero gets magical help / The villain gets magical help.
When Lady Tremain steals the magic wand to use it on her own it makes it look a little bit more originally.
I think in the movie they won´t use the "Honey, I shrunk Cinderelly-idea" either. That´s good too.
It´s a funny idea, but in my opinion it´s enough to see Jaq and Gus having the same size as Cinderella in Disneyland

In the movie it would look odd.
The opening of the musical and the rendition of "A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes" is just wonderful. I love it!
I hope the music/score in Cinderella III will be more classical and not so modern-pop-like than II...
When I first heard of Cinderella III a few month ago I though "Oh please, not again..."
But now I´m so excited, I can´t wait to see it

The pictures are so promising, and the story seems to become really interesting.
Let´s all hope the best

You're welcome! I haven't seen it either, but a friend gave me a very detailed synopsis of the show, which I'll probably post up later.
The opening instrumental really is wonderful. Also, the songs are great. The play gives everyone from the first movie (except the mice) larger roles.

You came up with a great idea, and I know for sure that I'm going to be buying it, but here's the thing:
some people don't want to know the whole story before they watch the movie. It will spoil the ending for them and nothing will be a surprise.
So if you do read it, please don't tell us what happens, because I want to be surprised when I watch the movie, and I'm sure other forum members do, too. When I buy the book, I will only be looking at the first few pages, since I already know what happens in the beggining anyway.

Or someone could post it separtley from this thread posting WARNING HUGE HUGE SPOILER TO ENTIRE PLOT OF Cinderella III via a Book
for those UD and other disney members who want to know the ending of the movie.... Anyhow I don't really want to read it as I want to be surprised also... Although I have yet to watch the Fox and the Hound 2... I probably should get to watching it sooner than later since afterall I did Buy it...

Yeah, I agree. Anyone who reads it and wants to give a synopsis on it should make a new post about it and list it as a spoiler.
