Disney doesn't own it. It is still Columbia property. That's what I have heard.

I have bought these 4 new DVDs but I have been craving bounses for Muppet Treasure Island. So there is a single store that I know of that still has a single copy of the June 2002 DVD and I wondered do you guys think its worth $16.99 for the little over 2 hours of bounes to add to the 5 mins. to the new disc and make how Luke put it "my own two-disc definitive Muppet Treasure Island DVD that this is clearly not."?

I already have The Muppet Movie, The Muppets Take Manhattan, Muppets From Space, and Kermit's Swamp Years (plus season 1 ) so I only need to get The Great Muppet Caper, Muppet Christmas Carol, and Muppet Treasure Island.

I should probably get the Muppet Wizard of Oz, as well... It was somewhat enjoyable when I saw it on TV, although the lack of widescreen is disappointing (see the review on this site.)

I never could find The Great Muppet Caper, and it sounds like the Disney version is about the same.

I, like many others, have been boycotting the original Christmas Carol and Treasure Island because of the Pan & Scan, so these two will be a welcome addition. I will now probably try to find a copy of the old Treasure Island for the extras, if it is cheap.

I really wish Disney had foregone the addition of the Pan & Scan versions, and had included more substantial extras (including what is missing from the previous discs.)

It's too bad we didn't know about the exact content of these new discs a few months ago; my Wal-mart was selling the old Muppet Treasure Island for $6 in August/September.

Edit: I just saw the old version of Muppet Treasure Island at Circuit City for $9.99. Might be worth checking there if anyone wants it.
